1.7 Million Views In 10 Hours: Puppy-Baby Photoshoot With A Dog Instead Of A Baby Makes A Couple Go Viral
Just when the “Baby Loves Cat” YouTube video began taking the Interwebs by storm, as reported by the Inquisitr, here comes a funny and viral “newborn photoshoot” going even more viral. The BuzzFeed article titled “A Couple Did A Newborn Photo Shoot With Their Dog To Stop People Asking About Babies” with the funny subtitle “Parenting goals” was posted on August 21, 2015, at 7:31 a.m., by Rossalyn Warren, a BuzzFeed News reporter.
Now, more than 1.7 million views later and counting upwards quickly, the photoshoot of the couple — done brilliantly by Elisha Minnette Photography — shows a duo named Matt and Abby strolling along an idyllic path with a stroller most folks would assume contains a baby. However, they’ve pulled one over on those family members probing about when they were going to procreate.
Instead of a newborn baby shoot with an actual human baby, they had one done with a dog, Humphry, in place of the baby. And oh what a beautiful baby Humphry turned out to be. Minnette thought of the idea to put a puppy in place of a baby after getting Humphry from a breeder, a long drive away. The photoshoot mimics all the funny and traditional ways that parents may conduct newborn photoshoots these days — hugging parents cradling their babies, and the newborn baby sitting upright in a basket on a bed, with pristine white sheets and curtains in the background. Only this time, the photoshoot is hilarious, because it’s the puppy in those poses.
Perhaps the funniest photo is when the puppy is swaddled like a newborn, which is only rivaled by the duo posing with the puppy with two pairs of feet and a couple of paws peeking from beneath a blanket. But then again, there’s the photo of the threesome holding hands (and paws) that steals the show.
“Abby and I have the craziest sense of humour and we feed off of each other with ideas. The shoot was hilarious. Everything went so smoothly. The pup was enjoying every second of it, and all the treats he was getting! We did this shoot just for a little bit of humour between ourselves, as well as for those that share the same sense of humour as us.”
After sharing the photos to Facebook, they went viral, as expected. It won’t be the last of fans seeing Humphry. Humphry represents the best kind of puppy for such a shoot, because the puppy appears patient and rife with curly fur.
“Yes. I think everyone will be seeing a lot more of Humphry in the future!”
