LLWS Schedule 2015: Day One Of Little League World Series Begins

LLWS schedule time has arrived in Williamsport. The 2015 Little League World Series schedule is already underway on Day 1, with Texas (Southwest) beating Oregon (Northwest). The first game from the United States bracket was an extreme pitching duel. Both teams mustered just one hit, showing that offense could be hard to come by in this series. The morning game was certainly a great way to get things started.

The rest of the Day 1 2015 LLWS schedule includes three more games from the U.S. bracket. The games are Kentucky (Great Lakes) vs. California (West) at 2 p.m. ET, South Carolina (Southeast) vs. Rhode Island (New England) at 5 p.m. ET, and Pennsylvania (Mid-Atlantic) vs. Missouri (Midwest) at 8 p.m. ET. Losing teams from the first day will have to play again on Saturday (August 22), while the winning teams get a day off until playing on Sunday (August 23).

The International bracket has already begun as well, with the Uganda (Europe-Africa) vs. Dominican Republic (Caribbean) game taking place Friday morning. In the 2015 LLWS schedule, Uganda won the first game 4-1, advancing to the winner’s side of the double elimination bracket. The rest of the Day 1 games in the International bracket are Venezuela (Latin America) vs. Australia at 1 p.m. ET, Canada vs. Mexico at 4 p.m. ET, and Chinese Taipei (Asia-Pacific) vs. Japan at 7 p.m. ET. As with the U.S. bracket, the losing International teams from the first day have to play again on Saturday.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the Little League Softball World Series got off to a rough start, as a team trying to qualify from Washington created some controversy. With two teams qualifying from one bracket, the Washington team was accused of losing on purpose in order to manipulate the final results. It brought a lot of negative attention to the sport and this organization that organizers hope the LLWS can overshadow.

By winning its first game on the tournament, Texas will next play at 3 p.m. ET on August 23. The opponent will be the winner of the Kentucky vs. California game. Oregon will play the loser of that game at 3 p.m. ET on August 22. Uganda next plays at 11 a.m. on August 23 against the winner of the Venezuela vs. Australia game. The loser plays against the Dominican Republic on August 22 at 1 p.m. ET. With the 2015 LLWS schedule underway, the games are going to come very frequently over the first two days of the tournament, with elimination games already taking place on Day 2.
