Rachel Respess And Shelley Dufresne: Teachers Yet To Face Charges In Student Threesome Sex Scandal

Rachel Respess, 25, and 32-year-old Shelley Dufresne were English teachers at Destrehan High School in Destrehan, Louisiana, who were busted on charges that they had a sex threesome with a 16-year-old male student.

But this week, 10 months after the alleged three-way session at the younger woman’s apartment — a location that would have been a necessity considering that Dufresne is a married mom of three — prosecutors in Jefferson Parish still cannot make up their minds whether the women will face charges in connection with the incident.

In April, Dufresne entered a guilty plea to a charge of obscenity, which required her to admit in open court that she had sexual intercourse with the same 16-year-old in a separate encounter.

That incident of sex with a juvenile occurred in the tiny town of Montz, where Dufresne lives with her family, but court records did not indicate whether she had relations with the boy in her own home, or another location in the hamlet with a population of about 1,200.

The case attracted attention in Louisiana not only for the lurid nature of the alleged crime, but for the fact that Dufresne is the daughter of a prominent local judge, Emile St. Pierre, who would have been in line to hear her case but was forced to step aside to avoid a conflict. Two other judges also declined to hear the salacious case.

On Thursday, Respess was scheduled for a hearing in 24th Judicial District Court. But no charges were filed against her, just as Dufresne has not faced charges yet in relation to the three-way sex incident.

The case garnered worldwide headlines when the prurient details went public — details which included a police report that described the 16-year-old engaging in sexual intercourse with Respess as Dufresne “began intimately kissing” her younger fellow teacher in “an attempt to arouse all parties involved, all who were completely disrobed.”

Rumors also emerged claiming that the infamous three-way sex session had been recorded on video by at least one of the individuals involved. But no such video has yet surfaced.

Respess at the time of her arrest denied that she consummated an act of sexual intercourse with the boy.

After her guilty plea in the separate case involving the same 16-year-old, Dufresne was sentenced to 90 days in a mental health treatment facility.

But why prosecutors have not yet figured out how to charge Rachel Respess and Shelley Dufresne in the three-way underage sex case, or whether to charge them at all, has not been explained.
