Is political commentator Tomi Lahren heading to the Fox News Channel? Her appearance on Fox & Friends this morning might be an indication that a new, higher-profile television gig is on the horizon.
You may recall that the previously unknown Lahren, 23, became an overnight sensation in July when a video of her calling out President Obama for lack of leadership in fighting terrorism following the Chattanooga murder by a gunman of four U.S. Marines and one U.S. Navy sailor went viral. According to multiple media accounts, the gunman was a devout Muslim.
The video received about five million hits on YouTube.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, the On Point with Tomi Lahren host on the San Diego-based cable channel One America News Network, among other things, deemed the Obama administration response to ISIS and terrorism “half-way, half-baked, tip-toe, be-friendly-to-Jihadis mentality” during her highly passionate rant.
Yesterday, the conservative commentator, who hails from South Dakota and is a recent graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, posted the following message on Instagram.
“I’ve completed my last show at OANN, and I am profoundly grateful for their support over the last year. Something new is coming in my life and work, and I can’t wait to share it with you. I’m ready to hit the ground running. Run with me? Here’s to new beginnings…”
This morning, Lahren made an appearance on the Fox & Friends couch, where she weighed in on the Hillary Clinton email/private server scandal and the former Secretary of State’s dismissive responses to media inquiries.
“…We’re looking at someone who could potentially be our next commander in chief…[Hillary Clinton] doesn’t like to be questioned by people that are outside her white rope…she gets very combative…if you are going to be my commander in chief, you’re going to have to answer some questions. She thinks she’s above all of us; she’s not an everyday American…”
After she became an instant internet celebrity in July, Lahren insisted that she has no intention of being a copycat of any other network news broadcaster.
“I’m not trying to be the younger, blonder version of anyone. I’m trying to be Tomi,” she explained.
Do you think it’s plausible that Tomi Lahren will go to work for the Fox News Channel or perhaps another national network?
