‘One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3’ Shows Off Dressrosa Island In Latest Trailer

The new “Dressrosa” trailer for One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 shows off the island of Dressrosa and its eccentric ruler, Donquixote Doflamingo.

The anime television series has recently entered the Dressrosa arc of the popular One Piece manga, making the release of Pirate Warriors 3 exceptionally well-timed. The game follows the anime storyline from its beginnings in Fushia Village through the Dressrosa arc. It will be the first time characters like Doflamingo, Sabo, and Fujitora are part of the game’s roster. It is also the first time a One Piece: Pirate Warriors game will be playable on PC through Steam. Koei Tecmo Games has served as the developer on the Pirate Warriors series, bringing the swift, melee action of their popular Dynasty Warriors franchise to the world of One Piece.

As detailed near the end of the trailer, pre-ordering One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 nets players four exclusive pieces of DLC, including two costumes and two missions. One costume allows Sabo to get dressed up as Lucy and the other puts Luffy in a red and black giant fish costume. The missions include a Davy Back Fight Quest and an Oris Plaza Quest in Marineford.

As an added bonus, those who pre-order the PlayStation 4 version of the game at GameStop get an exclusive metal case featuring Luffy and friends on the front, and a close-up of Doflamingo laughing maniacally on the back. Players opting to pre-order the digital PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 version through the PlayStation Network get a Pirate Warriors 3 Dynamic Theme in addition to the standard DLC pre-order bonus.

As has been the case with Pirate Warriors 3 trailers past, the Dressrosa trailer ends with a “To Be Continued” message. It is unclear if additional trailers will be released before launch or if the message is simply encouraging players to continue the story in the game once it becomes available. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 lands on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3, and PC via Steam in North America on August 25, 2015.
