Pit Bull Without A Face: The Group Who Rescued Khaleesi The Pit Bull Gives An Update On Her Status

Pit bulls, like any other animal, can be severely abused. The Inquisitr has reported on Mona the pit bull who was rescued from a dog fighting ring in Pennsylvania, where she lost her nose to the abuse she suffered, but Khaleesi the pit bull’s problem is even more severe. According to ABC News, Khaleesi the pit bull was found dumped in a woman’s yard in Orlando, Florida.

After Khasleesi the pit bull was rushed to the hospital, Stephanie Paquin was requested to take her case. Paquin operates Passion 4 Pits, a pit bull rescue in Orange County. She believes that Khaleesi the pit bull’s injuries happened from systematic torture and abuse over the course of her whole life.

The pit bull without half her face also suffered damage to her legs, ribs, and nasal cavity. Dr. Kerri Slomcenski of the Hays Towne Veterinary Hospital will work to rebuild her lips, give her nasal cavities, and assess the rest of her damage.

Paquin says that Khaleesi the pit bull retains good spirits and is happy, friendly, and “just keeps wagging her tail.”

Boy Pets Khaleesi the Pitbull

Iheartdogs sat down with someone with knowledge of the case for an interview regarding Khaleesi’s surgery costs, status, and whether or not she is going to get adopted. Though it was asked how much Khaleesi the pit bull’s surgery would be, at this time, an answer was far from reached.

“As of today, we are currently waiting for the orthopedic surgeon to give us an exact or at least a close estimated amount. Khalessi had her full workup on Friday, 8-14, so once we have that information, we will post what costs will be. Any questions regarding the amount, donations, etc can be either directed to Stephanie at Passion 4 Pits Rescue Facebook, Email is passion4pits@gmail.com, or directly to Dr. Hayes at Hays Towne Veterinary Hospital 727-378-9008.”

Naturally, in a case where the intent of caring for the animal and finding it a new owner, the question was raised as to whether Khaleesi was up for adoption and whether or not there were already those waiting to adopt the injured pit bull.

“No. Khalessi is currently with Stephanie (the founder of Passion4Pits Rescue) and will stay with her or another foster close to the rescue throughout her treatment. She will not be available for adoption until all of her surgeries are completed. We are currently focused on getting her healthy before we even think about potential adopters.”

When anyone sees a pit bull, or any animal in this severe condition from abuse, the question as to why the animal is not just put down comes up. Iheartdogs inquired as to why she wasn’t “put out of her misery,” presuming the pain Khaleesi was in.

“This one comes up a lot on other posts. She is uncomfortable, yes, but she is not in pain. Please understand that if Mike & Stephanie would of thought she was in pain, they would not put her through all of this. She has an AMAZING spirit, she is one of the most happy go lucky dogs and is full of spunk.”

For now, Khaleesi the pit bull will need to wait, rest up, and eventually get the surgery she needs to find normalcy in this world. One would hope justice finds the person who committed this heinous act, but sadly, justice isn’t always found. However dark Khaleesi the pit bull’s future may seem, her bright spirit might just carry her through.
