The Hottest MMORPGS To Play This Summer – Tera

Today we will be revealing the third of our selections for the hottest MMORPGS to play this summer; Tera. Out of the many games to choose from, this brand new MMORPG from South Korea’s BlueHole Studios offers gamers something completely new and different. Tera has introduced the most innovative and unique combat system ever seen in an online game.

Players will no longer be able to hit the tab key to lock on to a target, then fire away mindlessly without ever missing. Tera requires players to hover their targeting reticule over the intended target and keep it there until the target is dead. You can actually miss in this game if you don’t pay attention and maintain your aim at all times during a battle. Your target is quite capable of side stepping your attack, jumping back out of the way and avoiding many of your best attacks. Tera makes player skill an important factor in combat.

Tera’s remarkable new combat system is by no means all the game has to offer. The graphics are among the best to be seen in an online game. The world is rendered in a full palette of tone and color; ranging from mountain vistas with lush green valleys to creepy, mysterious forests, crawling with mutants and death. There are fantastic cities with glistening towers, dense jungles full of lurking danger and scorching deserts crawling with deadly creatures. The game’s designers have created a living, breathing world that invites you to explore every nook and cranny.

The monsters are awesome. Bosses are huge and intimidating, draped in layers of richly embellished armor with weapons and claws ready to rend the unlucky player limb from limb. The npcs are all varied and interesting, attired in their finest costumes and happy to engage players in helpful conversations. Every character in the game is carefully designed in fully detailed splendor.

When it comes to boss fights, say goodbye to “Tank and Spank” combat. These bosses are huge, mean, evil and loaded with extra appendages and gigantic weapons designed to destroy hapless players. Forget about bosses that stay in one place and invite you to smash them to bits. These bosses are mobile; jumping and leaping like the wild creatures they are; dodging your blows and responding by knocking you on your well armored backside over and over.

The storyline of Tera is a traditional fight of good against evil. Tera is a world created on the backs of two sleeping, dreaming gods. A pleasant, peaceful world where people lived in sparkling cities or farmed the rich, fertile soil of bountiful pastures and meadows.

Then the peace they knew was shattered by the arrival of the Argons, rampaging legions of destructive monsters whose primary goal is to awaken the two sleeping gods and bring utter ruination to Tera and its people. The Argon exist solely to create mayhem and to annihilate the peaceful world of Tera.

To respond to this threat, the people of Tera have joined forces to fight and defend their world. Players may play any of the seven races and select from eight different combat classes. The game offers all the traditional classes found in MMORPGS; from fearsome warriors wielding dual swords to swift sorcerers casting destructive spell after destructive spell, while dodging incoming attacks in order to survive.

The quests, while similar in concept to many popular MMORPGS, are well thought out and fun to complete. The story line is entertaining and holds the players interest. Players will find themselves chomping at bit to complete a quest, just to see what comes next.

There are hundreds of quests to complete. Some are kill quests and gathering quests that can be completed solo. What makes questing really exciting and interesting are the many quests that require you to find a small group of 2 or 3 other players in order to kill one or several mini bosses. These quests can be a real challenge and some can test the skills of even the best players.

Tera offers players many demanding instances to explore, full of daunting bosses who drop the best loot in the game. The instances first become available at level 18 and from that point forward there is a new instance to explore and conquer every few levels. The game also offers several difficult end game instances, complete with regular mode and hard mode for the truly brave at heart.

Tera offers gamers a choice between PVE (player vs. environment) and PVP (player vs. player) servers. For those players who thrive on PVP, action is plentiful on the PVP servers and increases as players gain levels. The game’s designers have promised to add ranked PVP to the game along with arena style combat. PVP is certainly a strong part of Tera, especially at the higher levels.

If you are looking for an MMORPG to play this summer that combines the best features that many of the most successful games have to offer with the most innovative and exciting combat system yet to appear in an online game, then you must give Tera a try. You may find yourself glued to your keyboard and monitor for hours every day as you plunge head first into the exciting world of Tera.
