Jessica Alba Worth More Than Beyoncé As Honest Company Valued At $1.7 Billion [Video]

Jessica Alba is now richer than Beyoncé. The Honest Company, in which Alba has a 20 percent stake, is now valued at over $1.7 billion, placing Jessica comfortably on Forbes’ list of the richest self-made women in the United States, reports the Huffington Post.

The Honest Company was formed in 2011 by Jessica Alba and originally began by producing baby-related products, such as diapers and wipes, with eco-friendly ingredients. Because of its successes, the Honest Company now produces a complete range of household products. The company’s website states its mission is to “relieve you of a few tasks by delivering the best family essentials to your doorstep – to simplify your life and bring more delight to every day. Our dream is to re-define the ‘family brand’ and create something – with you – that’s better for all families, everywhere.” Customers can have the products delivered to their doorsteps.

Having secured $100 million in Series D Financing, according to Business Wire, the outlook of the company founded by Jessica Alba looks even brighter, and her 20 percent stake makes Jessica even richer than Beyoncé. As previously reported by the Inquisitr,Beyoncé’s net worth is around $250 million, while Alba is now worth an estimated $360 million.

Jessica started the Honest Company to help parents alleviate concerns about whether their household products were safe. Alba herself is a mother to two daughters, Honor and Haven, whom she shares with husband Cash Warren. Jessica told reporters that being a mother is “the most profound experience I have ever had. All of my priorities in life have completely shifted to my children.” Jessica said she feels “this intense responsibility to create the safest, loving and healthiest environment for my family,” according to the International Business Times, and that feeling is the reason Alba founded the Honest Company.

Like any mother, Jessica Alba finds it can be overwhelming at times and “I was definitely not prepared. There’s so much information out there, it’s hard to really figure out what are the right choices. We created the Honest Company because we had to.” Alba continued that the inspiration behind the Honest Company is that they felt they “had to make it easier for parents to buy safe products for their families.”

“You don’t even have to go to the grocery store to get it. It just pops up on your doorstep. It’s kind of perfect.”

Even though the Honest Company is a runaway success, Jessica Alba still plans to continue acting. According to the International Business Times, Alba is working on several projects, including The Wright Girls, The Veil, and Dear Eleanor.
