Kate Middleton Mysteriously Misses Wedding, Prince William Goes With Pippa Instead

Kate Middleton’s sudden decision not to attend her friend’s wedding might concern the royal watchers who have noticed that the Duchess of Cambridge doesn’t get out much these days. But luckily for Prince William, Pippa Middleton was able to step in as a last-minute replacement as his plus one.

This weekend, Kate Middleton was supposed to accompany Prince William to the wedding of socialite Daisy Dickson and estate agent Bear Maclean. However, the Daily Mail is reporting that the Duchess of Cambridge was not present at the ceremony in South Devon. Kate’s name was still on the seating plan, but Pippa’s famous bum filled her sister’s seat instead.

Pippa looked fab in a summery floral print dress and a pale pink fascinator, but the talk of the wedding was definitely Kate Middleton’s mysterious absence. According to one source, Prince William and his sister-in-law spent the entire weekend in South Devon.

“Everyone was talking about it over breakfast the next morning. They stayed on the next day and night, too, attending lunch in the marquee together.”

The Daily Mail points out that Prince William has attended almost half a dozen weddings without the Duchess of Cambridge since tying the knot in 2011, and Kate has seemingly been missing out on more and more social events. No one seems to know exactly why, but it’s possible that she simply wants to spend more time at home with her two young children.

According to CNN, Will and Kate recently proved that they value their privacy very much by waging war against the paparazzi. They had Kensington Palace release a letter to the media, slamming photographers for harassing Prince George by using “frequent” and “alarming” tactics to obtain photos of the 2-year-old. Perhaps a concerned Kate is so fed up with the paparazzi that she wants to hide away at home with Prince George and Princess Charlotte as much as possible.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, there are also rumors that Kate Middleton is convincing Prince William to abandon his social life, and now he’s constantly down invitations to events that he once would have graciously accepted. The Duke of Cambridge’s friends are growing a bit concerned about his change in behavior, and they allegedly suspect that Will misses spending time with them.

Luckily, royal watchers who miss seeing Will and Kate together might be in for a real treat in a few weeks — the Duchess of Cambridge will finally get another chance to don a tiara. According to People, Queen Elizabeth will likely loan one of the dazzling headpieces to Kate to wear for the upcoming State Banquet that will take place during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife, Madame Peng. The couple is heading to London in October, and they’re going to stay at Buckingham Palace. Kate Middleton rarely wears a tiara, so perhaps her fans will forgive her for going into hiding for so long if she steps out looking like a glamorous fairy tale princess.
