‘Captain America: Civil War’: Tom Holland Spotted On German Set

Spider-Man actor Tom Holland has reportedly been summoned to the German set of Captain America: Civil War, just days after the first footage from the highly anticipated film premiered at the D23 Expo, taking the internet by storm.

Holland was announced as the new Spider-Man earlier this summer, taking over the role from Andrew Garfield, as the Inquisitr previously reported. Though it has been known for some time that Holland’s incarnation of the character would make his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War, fans previously believed that the actor had filmed all of his scenes for the movie on its set in Georgia. According to ComicBook.com, however, Holland has now reported to the film’s German set, stoking speculation that Spider-Man’s role may be larger than first anticipated.

The web-slinging superhero famously played a pivotal role in Civil War as it was depicted in the comics, but fans generally assumed that Spider-Man’s appearance in the third Captain America film would be somewhat limited. Rumors have circulated, however, that Holland would don two different iterations of the Spider-Man costume in Civil War, and combined with the news that the actor is filming in Germany, fans now have reason to believe that the film may feature more of Spidey than previously believed.

The German set of Captain America has so far yielded several high profile pictures, including the first images of Black Panther’s costume, taken as stuntmen filmed a fight scene. The images also revealed the Winter Soldier, as well as others from the film’s massive cast, leading some fans to posit that Civil War‘s climactic finale could be staged there.

While speculation runs rampant regarding the film, fans got their first chance to see footage from Civil War this weekend at Disney’s D23 Expo. Though the teaser has yet to make its way online, Den Of Geek details that it is filled with action, proving that Captain America: Civil War is set to be a high-octane affair. The clip reportedly showcased a plethora of battle scenes, while hinting at the existential conflict the Marvel universe heroes are set to face regarding registration.

Prior to showing the footage, Marvel head Kevin Feige asserted that everything so far seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been leading up to this film. With that sort of background, fans will no doubt wait even more eagerly for Captain America: Civil War to debut next spring, giving them a first look at Tom Holland’s new Spider-Man.
