Morgan Freeman’s Granddaughter Fatally Stabbed As Part Of Bizarre Exorcism Ritual?
Morgan Freeman is currently mourning the death of his granddaughter who was fatally stabbed in New York City.
Morgan Freeman’s step-granddaughter E’Dena Hines was killed by multiple stab wounds in New York City early Sunday morning. She was just 27. Though investigations are still ongoing, it has been indicated that she was killed as part of a bizarre ritual of exorcism.
Freeman’s granddaughter was discovered in an unconscious state with multiple stab wounds by New York police at about 3 a.m. She was bleeding heavily and was rushed to the nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead. A 30-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene, reported USA Today. What makes the case bizarre is that this wasn’t an attempted robbery or assault by an unknown assailant.
Hines may have been stabbed by her boyfriend, who was living with her, reported Softpedia. Though police haven’t released any information about the suspect, it is believed, he stabbed Hines multiple times in an attempt to perform an exorcism. Police later informed New York Post, that the seemingly delusional suspect was still making “a stabbing motion” even as cops encircled him and took him into custody. While blood analysis of the suspect is yet to be completed, it is feared he was under the influence of some powerful narcotics.
One of the eye-witnesses said the suspect yelled something about casting demons out of Hines’ body and Jesus Christ being “born” in the act. He even continued to stab her long after Hines stopped moving, her lifeless body lying on the sidewalk. It is quite possible that he may not be aware of what he was doing, presumably due to the drugs. A psychiatric evaluation is pending and should offer some clues as to why he brutally murdered Freeman’s granddaughter. Preliminary investigations indicate the suspect stabbed Hines a total of 18 times.
Freeman, who is undoubtedly shattered to hear the news of his granddaughter, later said,
“The world will never know her artistry in talent, and how much she had to offer. Her friends and family were fortunate enough to have known what she meant as a person. Her star will continue to shine bright in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace.”
Hines was an actress and has been seen with Freeman on many occasions. She is the granddaughter of Morgan Freeman’s first wife, Jeanette Adair Bradshaw. In the recent past, Freeman and Hines were subjected to a baseless and untrue rumor of being romantically involved.
