While Arsenal have their sights set on their first league title since 2004, Crystal Palace, under Manager Alan Pardew, in his first full season with the club, are just hoping to better their mid-table finish in their fourth season in the Barclays Premier league.
But in the opening week of the Premier League 2015-2016 campaign last week, it was Palace who entered the win column with a resounding 3-1 drubbing of Norwich City — and Arsenal found themselves sent to a shocking 2-0 defeat at the hands of West Ham.

Last season, Arsenal won both showdowns between these two teams, each by a score of 2-1. This time around, however, Palace boast their prize summer acquisition, Yohan Cabaye, a former Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle midfielder, whom Wenger had long coveted.
But in a signal of their seriousness about making a dent on the Premier League table this year, Crystal Palace shelled out a club record transfer fee for the 29-year-old Frenchman — a fee that neither side was willing to disclose.
Cabaye offered reassurances to Pardew that the move was a good one, scoring on his debut in the victory over Norwich.
Arsenal enter the match with lingering injury concerns for three of their regular stars, Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere, and Tomas Rosicky — none of whom will be available for the Sunday game at Selhurst Park.
On the other hand, Hector Bellerin and Alexis Sanchez are expected to make full returns to the squad, giving the team a boost, and former Chelsea goaltender Petr Cech seems unlikely to repeat the mistakes that helped sink Arsenal on their home ground last week.
