Seattle Seahawks Rumors: Injury News From Denver Broncos Game Addressed By Pete Carroll

Seattle Seahawks rumors deal with several injuries suffered against the Denver Broncos. The Seahawks injury updates included the status of quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, receiver Chris Matthews, and cornerback Mohammed Seisay. A report from Seahawks.com provided more information about the player injuries, with several quotes coming from Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll.

Jackson is dealing with an ankle sprain that will likely cause him to miss the next two NFL preseason games. It took place in the third quarter against the Broncos, when Jackson had to be helped off the field. As for adding another quarterback to the active roster, Carroll is taking a wait-and-see approach to it.

“T-Jack’s been doing really well for us. He’s been exactly what we’ve been counting on. It’s going to take him a while to get back, it’s just going to push R.J. [Archer] to get a lot more work in the next couple of weeks.”

Chris Matthews, who really came on to the national stage during the Super Bowl, was injured diving for a ball in the second quarter. He did not return to the game, with the early diagnosis being that he has an AC sprain. Matthews may also miss the next two preseason games as he tries to get his shoulder back to full strength.

“He was playing like crazy too on special teams,” Carroll said. “He was really doing some great things.”

Seattle Seahawks rumors about Chris Matthews have been extremely positive during the offseason, and it has been suggested that he will be a much bigger part of the offense during the 2015 NFL season. The 25-year-old receiver came up big in Super Bowl 49, catching four passes for 109 yards and a touchdown. His size could continue to help the Seahawks when the next regular season arrives.

As for the injury update on recently acquired Mohammed Seisay, Carroll described it as a “slight” groin injury that kept him out of most of Thursday’s game (August 13). He could be ready to go in the second preseason game, but the team will try to take it easy on rushing him back in order to guarantee that the team has some depth when the regular season begins.

As for the Seahawks injury news most fans want to hear about, safety Earl Thomas is still working hard to be ready by the first game of the 2015 NFL season. He was recently taken off the physically unable to perform list, allowing him to re-join the team after suffering a shoulder injury in the NFC Championship Game. Thomas sat out the game against the Denver Broncos, meaning no member of the “Legion of Boom” was on the field for the game.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Kam Chancellor is still holding out for a new deal from the front office in Seattle, but he could be back on the field as early as Monday (August 17). Even if the two sides don’t come to terms on an extension in the short-term, a deal can get worked on throughout the season. Those are Seattle Seahawks rumors that fans will enjoy hearing about, because getting Chancellor, Earl Thomas, and Richard Sherman back on the field is a major step to getting this team back to the Super Bowl.
