Danny Gans’ Cause of Death a Mystery

Danny Gans Cause of DeathLas Vegas entertainer Danny Gans died on Friday. The cause of Gans’ death, however, is proving thus far to be a mystery.

Danny Gans’ Cause of Death

Danny Gans’ wife reportedly found him deceased in bed on Friday. Gans, 52, didn’t suffer from any publicly known ailments. His manager, Chip Lightman, has said Gans was in good health, ate well, and didn’t do drugs.

“This makes no sense,” Lightman told one publication.

Gans was said to have come down with what appeared to be a common cold early last week. The day he was found dead, he had apparently taken a nap and then remained in bed all evening. Aside from that, few facts are present as to any possible cause of Gans’ death.

Danny Gans’ Autopsy and Funeral

Danny Gans’ autopsy results are still pending. Medical examiners have said it could be several weeks before they reach any conclusions.

Funeral arrangements have yet to be made public. Gans’ family and close friends attended a church service in the comedian’s honor over the weekend.

Danny Gans had been a mainstay of Vegas entertainment for 13 years. He was named “Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year” for 11 of them.

Gans was 52 years old.

The lesson: Eat healthy, stay in shape, don't do drugs, and die anyway.

  5. maybe the cold was much worse…..pneumonia?? people walk around with it all the time not realizing it. this is why we should all take care of ourself and get plenty of rest. if i am sick, i do not go to work so that i can get better quickly but i know many people who push themselves to the limit and get much worse. i loved danny, he was amazing!

  6. Danny Gans was a Legend of his own time. There will never be anyone like him or to compare to him. He was a brilliant, talented, phenomenal, fabulous entertainer. I saw him five times at the Mirage, and would have seen him 100 times more, if I would have had the chance. My heart goes out to Julie and their three children, and to the entire community of Las Vegas. This is a tremendous loss to the whole city, and to people all over the world. I just loved him and I am so, so, so sad and devastated. Danny will never be forgotten and will live in many hearts forever.
    REST IN PEACE DANNY.

And you know this how? Every report says that he was healthy. If you are mocking the man, how rude!!! IF you have facts and are simply stating them I am sorry. Your comment comes across very insensitive

My son was discovered dead by his wife with identical symptoms at age 24. He was complaining of a cold, took a nap and didn't get up. His autopsy didn't reveal a heart attack and no drugs in his system. They ruled it a heart arythmia but it was not conclusive. I hope his family gets different answers to avoid not knowing for certain what happened!

Danny Gans looked very healthy and could not have died from HIV……AIDS…..this is very rude to say this, he was married with children and looked very healthy, people with HIV and dying look very thin and old……………

He probably worked himself to death, heart stopped in sleep………………………….exhausted, people have to slow down especially entertainers thay are trying to make the money, show after show, very stressing, he was working too hard, it got to him, listen to what your body is telling you, slowing down is important after 50, some movie stars think they can go on forever, this is simply not true. Foe example, Oprah needs to slow down….too much stress, you can't live your life day after day without changing your lifestyle.

I had no idea Danny had HIV. It was shocking to read that the informal report is that he died of an AIDS-related pneumonia, as he had a reputation for being drug-free and I think he was married and had a family. Did he even know he had it? If he knew, he could have taken the antiviral cocktail and lived a normal life. We may never know how (or when) he contracted the disease, and it really doesn't matter. We saw his show twice and he was a helluva showman and consummate professional entertainer. 52 is too young.

My family and I have seen Danny Gans perform at least 5 times since 2000. What a shock this is to all wh0 have ever experienced one of Danny's shows.
The world will certainly miss this very talented and genuine perfomer.

  17. I couldn´t believe it when I heard. It´s such a loss! Mister Gans, we pray for you! You were a nice guy and we think you´ll be one of the most famous angels in heaven. Where ever you go – I am sure we will meet you in future.

  18. All right, that's gone far enough with the AIDS thing… whoever you are saying that, how about backing it up with some facts? Like the guy above citing an “informal report”. What the heck does that mean? After an autopsy, medical examiners issue their findings after 2 or more weeks, and that report is the only one; there is no such thing as an “informal” version….so explain yourself.

Secondly, if Mr. Gans had a pneumonia of ANY kind, why wouldn't he have sought treatment for it ? And where were his symptoms all last week while he was performing? Besides, someone with HIV plus the type of pneumonia we're talking about would have gotten emaciated and bedridden weeks or months ago… how would Danny Gans have avoided that, and just jump forward to death without warning?

    Care to explain???

I was privileged to see Danny Gans perform in Las Vegas just a couple of weeks before he died. I am still shocked at his sudden demise, he was so vibrant and fun. He will be sorely missed by his many fans and he certainly will be a hard act to follow.

Anti-HIV drugs don't work forever. Eventually the virus burns through and develops resistance to the antiviral cocktail. I would guess Danny may have contracted HIV a long time ago and didn't want to tell his family and deal with embarrassment. Pneumocystis is pretty much pathognomonic for HIV disease – hardly any other patients get that rare pneumonia. I assume they are waiting for the tox report to finalize the COD and file the final autopsy report.

I saw Danny two times while in Vegas. What an incredible talent!! I was looking forward to many more trips to see him in the future. He will be missed horribly. My heart goes out to his family.

  25. Jeez — people– PEOPLE!!! Will some of you please get an attention span ???

Read what I posted yesterday up above– Where is there any reliable source that's said anything about Danny having HIV ??? What is that all coming from? And where were the symptoms that any other human should have been displaying if they were that ill ? He showed none of those signs whatsoever.

Now if someone's going to post that crap again– QUOTE your source and show a link to it, or shut up!

  26. I visited my cousin and her family in Las Vegas many times, but sadly, never saw Danny's show. I always, always wanted to though. Now I never will and it breaks my heart. However, he seemed to me to be such a grounded, talented family man. Very good looking. I may be naive, but I find it very hard to believe he died of HIV. I'm 46 years old and had strep without even knowing it. Luckily I went to the doctor. Many people ignore their symptoms or have a high tolerance to pain, etc.. Who knows? He might have been sicker than he realized and complications ensued. God Bless him and his family. I am just heartbroken for them. Leave them alone and let them mourne!

So true, People KILL themselves being “healthy” thanks to what the media and doctors push on them, and then the stress of living “healthy” kills them

Sorry to see Danny go. He was a great person.
