Lisa Vanderpump Calls Kim Richards Situation ‘Sad,’ Says Sobriety ‘More Important’ Than Reality TV

Lisa Vanderpump spoke about Kim Richards at her Hero Dog Awards Benefit Luncheon on August 13, and showed her support for her friend’s well-being. According to Us Weekly, Lisa was joined by a few of her Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills pals at the event, but Kim Richards was unable to attend because of her struggle with sobriety, and her recent arrest. Vanderpump spoke to the media about the situation, which she called “sad.”

“Well, I’m sorry Kim’s not here because of the situation. That’s the thing. But I think her sobriety is more important than any reality show. And I think a lot of people recognize that fact and that’s probably why she’s not in this season,” said Lisa. “I’m not that close to Kim, obviously I’m closer to Kyle. I’ve heard updates and stuff. But it’s a sad situation,” she added.

Lisa Vanderpump’s friend, Camille Grammer, also spoke to the media at the event, and said that she planned to reach out to Kim soon.

“I will reach out to her soon. I mean, I feel bad for Kim. My thoughts and prayers are with her and I support her and I just want her to know I’m here for her if she needs anything,” Camille said.

This was certainly not the first time that friends of Kim Richards have spoken out about her situation, and it’s not the first time that Lisa Vanderpump has been asked her opinion either. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Lisa previously said that Kim has a lot of support behind her, but that “something needs to be done” to get Kim the help that she really needs.

Lisa previously admitted that she hadn’t reached out to Kim, just because the two aren’t close.

“I haven’t [reached out] because I feel there are people a lot closer to her than I am. I send her well wishes and hope she’s okay,” Lisa said earlier this month.

Lisa Vanderpump is currently filming Season 6 of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, and, as far as the public knows, Kim Richards will not be a part of the upcoming season. However, it is likely that Kim’s name will come up in conversation from time to time, though it is unclear how much Bravo will choose to air.

With rumors that Kim is still refusing help (via Radar Online), those closest to her are hoping for the best at this point.
