Bob Schimmel, Comedian, Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

Comedian Bob Schimmel has been arrested on charges of domestic violence, reports indicate. Schimmel, 59, is accused of beating his wife, Melissa Schimmel.

Bob (aka Robert) Schimmel was taken into custody over the weekend, the New York Daily News reports. The paper cites police statements saying officers went to Schimmel’s Los Angeles home and discovered marks of some sort on his wife.

Schimmel was being held in jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Robert Schimmel’s wife, Melissa Schimmel, is about half his age. The two met via Schimmel’s daughter, with whom Melissa was friends. The two married after Schimmel apparently divorced his first wife three times.
