WWE News: Huge Update On John Cena Vs Seth Rollins Match At WWE SummerSlam, Neither Title Changing Hands?

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has been quite an interesting World Champion. In his first title run, he has held the championship almost 6 months. Few people have held the title this long on their first reign, and one of the few happens to be his opponent at WWE SummerSlam, John Cena. Cena held his first for nearly a year, as WWE was trying to make him the next top guy. Obviously they succeeded, as this led to John Cena becoming a big star for WWE.

WWE feels that Rollins is doing well with the title, but you have to take the WWE World Title off of him eventually. This led to many thinking that John Cena would take the WWE World Title at WWE SummerSlam. It would be the 16th World Title for Cena, which would tie him with Ric Flair for the most notable World Titles in pro-wrestling history.

Despite the fact that it makes total sense for Rollins to lose at SummerSlam, that may not be the case. According to Cageside Seats, WWE is looking to plan an angle where both Seth Rollins and John Cena keep their respective championships. This will most likely be a disqualification win for someone, which would render neither title won by default.

It doesn’t make sense for The Authority to get involved in the match, as J&J Security as well as Kane have been out to sell their injuries from Brock Lesnar. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have also wanted Rollins to do things on his own a lot more. Since Money in the Bank, The Authority has not been involved in the title matches for Rollins at each PPV.

Seth Rollins has had to win on his own. He barely scrapped by each time, but he did manage to walk away with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship each and every time, which was obviously the goal going in.

This means that either Rollins would have to cost himself the win to keep his championship by using a weapon, or someone outside of The Authority will interfere on Rollins’ behalf. Who that could be is unknown, but if the report is true about both men walking away with their respective championship, this could only happen via DQ.

The rivalry with Seth Rollins and John Cena is said to be a long term feud for both men. Rumors claimed that the rivalry could go on until the end of the year, and other reports had it ending by WWE Survivor Series. No matter the case, the only way this rivalry could continue is if Rollins cheats to win and Cena has a case for getting a rematch. This could also give WWE more time to figure out who to have Cena drop his United States Championship to. In the end, this outcome would be best all around for everyone involved.
