Watch Green Bay Packers Vs. New England Patriots Live Online: NFL Preseason Football, Streaming

Football fans can watch live online as the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots face the Green Bay Packers — who lost to the Seattle Seahawks in last year’s NFC Championship Game — in the first actual head-to-head gridiron action of the 2015 NFL preseason for either team. While the game is not expected to feature many of either team’s regular stars, it at least will afford Patriots and NFL fans at least one day of actual football rather than the seemingly ceaseless discussion of Deflategate.

After appearing at New York court hearing on Wednesday, Brady is “unlikely” to appear in the game, at least according to NFL Network reporter Stacey Dales.

Because Brady missed both Tuesday and Wednesday’s practice sessions to prepare for and appear at, the Deflategate hearing in a New York courtroom — where Brady is fighting the four-game suspension slapped on him by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell — he will not be allowed to play in the game, in keeping with Patriots “tradition,” Dales reported.

On the other hand, Patriots Coach Bill Belichick has given no indication whether Brady will play, or if the game will be handed over to second-year backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who would almost certainly become the New England starter for the first four games of the regular season if Brady is forced to serve the NFL-mandated suspension.

The suspension applies only to regular season games. Brady remains free to appear in any or all preseason games.

In his 15-year career with the Patriots, Brady has failed to appear in the preseason opening game just four times, including last season. But most of the Patriots regular starters are expected to sit this one out, or appear only briefly.

The usual starters who are likely to remain on the bench include receiver Julian Edelman, running back LeGarrette Blount, as well as linemen Bryan Stork, Nate Solder and Marcus Cannon.

On the other hand, Green Bay superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers said that he plans to see action in Thursday’s game.

“I’m not sure how much time I’ll play, but I’ll be there,” Rodgers said. “And I think we’re going to go with the starters for a little while.”
