‘Straight Outta Compton’ Movie Pre-Order Ticket Sales: Fandango Says ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Movie #1

The Straight Outta Compton movie phenomena is already apparent by how viral the “Straight Outta Somewhere” campaign has gone, as reported by the Inquisitr. Days before the Straight Outta Compton movie was scheduled to hit movie theaters, the genius marketing campaign that allowed users to create their own “Straight Outta” some location — or object, or whatever — already whet the appetite of those who weren’t even alive when rap group N.W.A. was in their heyday. All this buzz could be contributing to the pre-ticket sales that have shot the Straight Outta Compton movie to the top of Fandango pre-order movie ticket sales.

Now, according to Deadline, Straight Outta Compton is poised to break all kinds of box office records and is currently leading Fandango pre-ticket sales. A search on Fandango for the Straight Outta Compton movie shows that although the film is listed as having a wide release date of Friday, August 14, certain locations will play the movie earlier. Listings for 8 p.m. showings on Thursday, August 13, of the Straight Outta Compton movie also appear. Those who want to ensure they get a seat in movie theaters prior the movie being sold out are apparently turning to Fandango to purchase their tickets early, sending the pre-ticket sales data reported by Fandango to the top of the list of pre-order movie ticket sales.

Fandango also shared interviews with the surviving members of N.W.A., as well as interviews with some of the actors who portray them.

“We were just some kids from Compton having some fun in the studio.”

The movie ticket buying website Fandango also shared artwork renditions of N.W.A. on their site, as if not to be outdone by the viral “Straight Outta” memes circulating around social media.

Some theaters showing the Straight Outta Compton movie earlier than its Friday release date list the fact that “Fandango ticketing [is] not available” on Fandango, meaning moviegoers will likely have to show up in person to buy those movie tickets early.

As reported by Bloomberg, the “Straight Outta” marketing with the viral memes represented a tactic that likely brought the biopic to the mainstream. With everyone from celebrities to everyday folk availing themselves of the meme generator and spreading more photos on to their large followings, the Straight Outta Compton movie gains more buzz as well. There are even apparel stores popping up online selling “Straight Outta” clothing and other gear.
