‘Frozen’ Director Thinks Tarzan Is Elsa And Anna’s Brother

Over the years there have been some rather crazy Disney fan theories. But the latest one to emerge could be the craziest yet, because it’s been speculated that Tarzan is actually the brother of Frozen’s Elsa and Anna.

This fan theory hasn’t just manifested itself out of thin air though. Oh no. In fact, it has been started by none other than Chris Buck, the co-director of the hit animated film.

Buck spoke to MTV News on Sunday about the theory, admitting that he created it while working on Frozen for four years. Buck admitted, “In my head, Anna and Elsa’s brother is Tarzan.” Before making this revelation, Buck explained how it came together in his mind.

“I think Jen [Lee] and I were walking to a meeting, and I just start to tell her the entire story. I said, ‘Of course Anna and Elsa’s parents didn’t die. Yes, there was a shipwreck, but they were at sea a little bit longer than we think they were because the mother was pregnant, and she gave birth on the boat to a little boy.”

“They get shipwrecked, and somehow, they really washed way far away from the Scandinavian waters, and they end up in the jungle. They end up building a tree house and a leopard kills them, so their baby boy is raised by Gorillas.”

But, Chris Buck also teased that while the Gorillas were raising Tarzan, the son of the Queen and King of Arendelle, on one side of the island, on the other side the antics of Surf’s Up were unfolding. Buck continued.

“… But on the other side of that island are surfing penguins, to tie in a non-Disney movie, Surf’s Up. That’s my fun little world.”

But why would Buck pick out both of these films? Well, because he was the co-director of both of them.

Rather than having a problem with the abundance of fan theories out there, Buck also admitted in the same interview that he actively encourages them. “I say, whatever people want to believe, go for it,” the animator proclaimed. “If you wan to tie them all together, then do it. That’s the spirit of Disney.”

This isn’t the first time that Chris Buck has tried to pair the two films together. During a Reddit AMA last year, Jennifer Lee, the other co-director of Frozen, was asked, “Where were the King and Queen planning to go when they lost their lives out at sea?”

And after answering the question, Lee then revealed Buck’s wild theory behind what happened to the King and Queen of Arrendelle, which most Disney fans will absolutely adore.

“A wedding,” Lee quickly answered, before then adding, “According to Chris, they didn’t die on the boat. They got washed up on a shire in a jungle island. The queen gave birth to a baby boy. They build a treehouse. They get eaten by a leopard…”
