Michael Strahan Is The Top Contender To Join Kelly Ripa On ‘Live With Kelly!’
Kelly Ripa has been looking for a new co-host since Regis Philbin left the show last year. According to a new report, “Live With Kelly!” may have found its new co-host in former NFL star Michael Strahan.
According to Hollywood Life, Strahan is at the top of the list.
A source familiar with the situation said:
“All bets are on Michael Strahan. He’s funny, does well on camera and gets along really fabulously with Kelly. Michael is the top name that is seriously being thrown around right now.”
It’s not a done deal yet but Strahan has been a favorite of Ripa’s since Philbin left the show. Strahan hosted “Live With Kelly!” for the ninth time on Monday.
According to Hollywood Life, Josh Groban and Howie Mandel are also being considered for the co-hosting job.
Several other celebrities have hosted alongside Kelly Ripa since Philbin’s departure, including Jerry Seinfeld, Neil Patrick Harris, and Ripa’s husband Mark Consuelos. Consuelos was considered for a permanent role on the show by Ripa recently said that she wasn’t sure if their marriage would survive if they started working together.
Ripa said:
“No one would make me happier than Mark, but he values our marriage and he says that he doesn’t see how we could stay married and both do that show.”

I hope Micheal gets the job. Josh Groban is boring and needs to stick with what he does best, singing. Howie Mandel has been on too many shows in the past and hasn't caught on with viewers otherwise he would't still be looking for a job.

Strahan is signing ANY deal his way for TV…the dude SERIOUSLY needs to calm the hell down…his primetime show SUCKED and failed after the 1st episode even if it didn't go to its 1st episode…I stopped eating subway cause of strahan…seriously…STOP ACTING CAUSE YOU SUCK!

I think Michael Strahan is a great choice. I felt this way from the first time I saw him on Regis and Kelly. I think he has a lot to bring to the table. Josh Groban I think is boring.

I couldn't agree more…Michael Strahan is the best. He is funny and game for anything which makes him a wonderful match for Kelly. Josh is good also but as a back up when Michael is not available.

I won't watch if he is cohost. He is very boring and awkward. I would be so disappointed if he were the choice. Josh, Howie, or Michael Buble are way better choices.

Well, I love George Hamilton. He may be a little over tanned, but he is interesting, quick witted and hilarious. I loved it when he used to fill in now and then for Regis.

I've met Michael in person. He is the nicest guy you will ever meet. Every time I saw him he remembered who I was and was so sweet. He and Kelly get along so great. I've wanted him on since the beginning. Josh is boring and though I like Howie, he has to be on medication to co-host and it makes him loud and jittery. My vote is for Michael!
