Is Nicki Minaj Trolling Her Fans?

Nicki Minaj sparked pregnancy rumors Saturday night during her Pinkprint Tour when she brought Meek Mill onstage and announced him as her “baby father,” but is she just messing with her fans?

When fans tweeted to congratulate on her on the assumed pregnancy, Minaj neither confirmed nor denied the rumors, but responded with laughing emoji.

Minaj later posted a cryptic tweet that said only “babaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy” with a link to an Instagram picture of Minaj and boyfriend Mill.

Minaj and Mills seem to enjoy teasing their fans and sparking rumors. The pair have been dating since December, 2014, and in April, Minaj posted a mysterious tweet saying only “I’ll post it later” with a ring emoji and a heart. Minaj later shared a photo of herself wearing a heart-shaped diamond ring, immediately triggering a flurry of rumors that the pair had gotten engaged.

The pair stayed tight lipped about the potential engagement for over a month before Minaj finally denied the rumor in an interview.

“[Our relationship] is definitely real, but it ain’t really time to get married yet,” Minaj said.

This isn’t the first time pregnancy rumors have swirled around Minaj. In April, rumors that Minaj was pregnant were jumpstarted when she was seen sucking a nausea popsicle at a Chris Brown concert. She reportedly also avoided alcohol that evening. When asked about the rumors, Mill denied a pregnancy, but said he was open to the idea of having children with Nicki.

“Nicki ain’t pregnant. But yeah, I wish,” he said.

Nicki insists that she will not have a baby until after she’s married. She told Complex magazine that she wouldn’t have a baby until she’s married. She later tweeted about the rumors, denying them and reaffirming her desire to wait until marriage to have children.

“No matter wut he, or anyone else says, Onika Tanya Maraj won’t b pushing anyone1 out her vajayjay, until she’s married. Now check that,” she said.

Minaj has also referred to Drake as her baby’s father in the past, so it’s possible that it’s just an expression, and fans are inferring too much meaning. Rumor mills have been hungry for baby news since it was revealed that Chris Brown had fathered a child, so it seems likely that everyone is blowing things out of proportion, and Minaj is simply amused at the proceedings.
