Harry Styles Weird Celebration As ‘Drag Me Down’ Tops Charts

One Direction star Harry Styles is looking pretty pleased with himself. Styles and his One Direction band-mates Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan have just released their first single as a four piece band and it has flown straight to the top of the UK chart. The single “Drag Me Down” is the first glimpse of One Direction’s new album, their fifth. Styles will be delighted that fans have shown their continued support for a band reduced to four members after Zayn Malik sensationally quit in March of this year.

Styles and other members of One Direction have continually hinted that their next album, due for release later this year, will be different to past offerings. By sending the new single straight to the No 1 spot in the Official UK chart, One Directions fans have shown that they are ready for whatever Styles and company serve up. According to the Official Charts Company “Drag me Down” didn’t just hit No 1, it also set a new streaming record with over two million UK streams in its first week of release. As a result, Harry has two reasons to celebrate.

When the song was released, Styles took to Twitter to thank his 25 million followers “for all the support” they were giving the single.

Styles also showed fans how happy he was when the song was confirmed as this week’s No 1 when he again took to Twitter to thank fans for their support saying that he “couldn’t be happier to find out it’s number one in the UK.”

According to Unreality TV, Styles and One Direction have a global hit on their hands, the song has been streamed almost 18 million times across the globe in its first week of release.

On Saturday Harry was still celebrating the news of One Directions latest smash hit and showed that he was in playful mood during the bands show in Baltimore, Maryland. According to MTV Harry had a huge smile on his face as he teased fans with a tub of cookies.

A young fan handed Harry a plastic tub of home baked cookies from the front row. Holding the tub aloft Harry asked the packed audience “Would anybody like one of these cookies?” Amidst a huge chorus of affirmative answers Harry said “too bad,” before tucking the tub under his arm and walking away laughing. Harry then teased the audience asking “why didn’t you all bake cookies?”

Anyone want to take bets on how many boxes of cookies fans present to Harry Styles when One Direction roll into Columbus, Ohio next week?
