This isn't news to the LGBT community. We've known for a long time. Coming out is a personal process–there is no set time to do it. Apparently Ms. Owens is comfortable with doing so at this time. Kudos to her.

We, the black community, always knew she was. I don't know what is the big deal 'coming out.' I like the fact that she was private about her relationships. Why must celebrities discuss their love relationships with everybody? Goodness!

No, it was very… ACTING. And acting is a part of Queen Latifah's skill set as an entertainer. Do you believe Anthony Hopkins is a cannibal serial killer because of his "actions" in "Silence of the Lambs"? Well?

Acting is acting, and if/when the character's actions are believable, that's a testament to the skills of the actor/actress, and that's it.

She might be lesbian, bisexual, or straight as a rod, and simply choosing to support the LGBT community for reasons entirely her own… or just because it's a kindhearted and noble thing to do in the face of the hatred the community experiences on a daily basis.

Whether or not she's gay is irrelevant, but claiming prior knowledge based on a character portrayed while ACTING is beyond stupid. If she chooses to make her sexual preferences known publicly, she will do that in her own time. Stop buying into sensationalist headlines, and learn to read for content. >.<

I love her work and admire her tenacity in her personal life and her professional life. She has been at the top of the list of my favorite entertainers for a long time! This headline is misleading. Queen didn't come out- she PERFORMED at a gay pride festival. I've performed for many straight festivals and that doesn't mean that I am straight. I am gay and I don't care if someone is gay or not. If she is that is great. If not- great. She's a FANTASTIC entertainer.

This is news to me, I never even thought about her personal life. As tolerant and accepting Hollywood is, I wonder what kind of roles she will get now. Remember after all the box office success George Lucas had, he had a devil of time getting Red Tails released, and he's white. I think its time for more minorities in Hollywood to create their own studios and production companies and just do it themselves (gay, black, hispanic etc.) I think there enough minority wealth out there to do it themselves.

I agree with Shondrika. Is it really importatntr to know, because ynless we are in the bedroom with folks , the we dont know who is being naked with who or even if its just kissing or whatever.
