Update On ‘NXT Takeover: Brooklyn’ Ticket Sales, Current Card

WWE NXT is set to hold their biggest event in history on Saturday, August 22, when the company holds NXT Takeover: Brooklyn at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York. The NXT show will take place on day before, and in the very same venue as, WWE SummerSlam.

This will be the first time that Takeover has occurred on the road, outside of the confines of Full Sail University. The fans at Full Sail in Orlando have not taken kindly to the decision to take NXT’s big quarterly event on the road, as the local fans feel a personal connection to the product. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the fans at Full Sail booed all mentions of NXT Takeover: Brooklyn during a recent NXT television taping.

Ticket sales for the Brooklyn show have gone incredibly well, so well that it appears it would be foolish for WWE not to continue the trend of holding NXT Takeover specials the night before a major PPV event in the same venue or city.

When tickets initially went on sale for Takeover, WWE only sold a portion of the seats at the Barclay Center for the show. With the venue being several times larger than any arena NXT has ever ran a show in before, they wanted to measure interest and feel-out just how close they could come to filling up the venue.

Any concerns about ticket sales were short lived, however, as tickets immediately sold out for the show. WWE has then continued to release more and more tickets to the show, with the capacity for the event gradually increasing each time. As of last word, WWE had sold close to 12,000 tickets to NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, and there are only a few hundreds seats remaining for the show (as it is currently configured).

To give you an idea of how different this show will look on television compared to past NXT Takeover events, the venue the show usually originates from in Orlando at Full Sail University seats 400 fans.

The current card for NXT Takeover: Brooklyn is as follows.
