Chrissy Teigen probably felt what many Americans do when we see our weathermen and women on TV: “Hey, I can do that!” It does seem like a fun occupation and not too difficult, either. Chrissy learned that looks can be deceiving, and that a job reporting weather is definitely not for her.
Teigen had visited the ABC 13 news network in Houston and was given the opportunity to share the weather report with the viewers at home. A clip of her efforts is available, and it’s somewhere between adorable and cringe-worthy. In the video, we see Chrissy standing before what is, if you didn’t know, a green screen. Teigen is supposed to gesture to that blank canvas and share with the audience details about the local weather. Simple right? Well, apparently not.
“So we start off on…What’s the first day of the week?”
To be fair, Chrissy Teigen was probably thrown by the fact that rather than begin with Sunday, the chart began the weekly weather report with the then current day of the week. It took her a few moments to remember that it was Thursday. Obviously flustered, Teigen scooted down and soon after exclaimed that it was “one hundred degrees” that day.
A good sport about her failed weather report, the Lip Sync Battle co-host took to Instagram to share a video clip of her embarrassing moment. Chrissy added the caption, “Learned another job I can’t do #ABC13 #Houston thanks for having me!”

The 29-year-old model isn’t the only celebrity to try her hand at being a weatherperson. Actor Mark Wahlberg did the weather report for a local Philadelphia station last year. He actually disputed the temperature, declaring that it is usually much colder for that particular time of year than what was shown. It was all in good fun, as members of the news team were heard laughing throughout.
Wahlberg also did a traffic report, during which he strongly recommended that those stuck in heavy traffic “stop and get a hoagie” to pass the time.
Unfortunately for Chrissy Teigen, her time as weatherperson didn’t go quite as smoothly. If it’s any comfort to the model, there are plenty of videos on YouTube that demonstrate how sometimes even trained meteorologists have a hard time with their job. It’s probably fair to say that anyone can have an embarrassing day while trying to report the weather.
