First ‘Batman V Superman’ Screening Gets Standing Ovation, Doosmday Rumors Increase

We’re still seven months away from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actually hitting cinemas, but rumors have started to swirl that an early screening of the blockbuster was met with such a fervid response that Warner Bros. executives felt the need to give it a standing ovation.

Den of Geek reported that they were blown away with Ben Affleck’s portrayal of the Caped Crusader. So much so, in fact, that one Warner Bros. boss even called Affleck the “definitive Batman,” and now plans are in place to have the comic book star become the centrepiece of the DC Universe. They will do this by having three Batman solo films, which is believed will be written and directed by Ben Affleck himself.

It’s also believed that Warner Bros. are currently finalizing a “golden deal” for the Argo director, with the source adding, “Basically, Warner are now working their movie universe around Ben’s Batman.”

Affleck was already in line to star in both Suicide Squad and the Justice League films, however, there hadn’t been any confirmation about a series of solo films for his incarnation of the character.

The aforementioned website revealed that the first screening for the film’s crew and Warner Bros. executives was held within the past 24 hours. Their source insisted that it was a “near finished cut but not locked.”

Meanwhile, Movie Pilot also insisted that Doomsday will also be a villain in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This story has nothing to do with the screening that Den of Geek reported on, which failed to produce any spoilers or information regarding surprising characters in the blockbuster.

Andrew Brindley wrote for Movie Pilot that he got his hands on a script for the blockbuster. He then explained that this script had been leaked for one day before it was then taken down by Warner Bros. Brindley didn’t have any further proof to back up his revelation, but he insisted that it was the truth, even though a hoard of commentators thought otherwise.

He added that Doomsday is produced as a result of Lex Luthor’s experimentation with the dead body of Zod, who was played by Michael Shannon in Man of Steel and perished at the hands of Henry Cavill’s Superman. The character of Doomsday’s biggest claim to fame is that he is killed Superman in the comics.

We’ll learn if he’s telling the truth when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is finally released on March 25, 2016.
