Jennifer Aniston’s Mother Didn’t Attend Daughter’s Wedding, Nancy Dow Insists She Wasn’t Invited

Jennifer Aniston finally married Justin Theroux after a three-year engagement on Wednesday. But one of those who wasn’t in attendance was her mother Nancy Dow, who has admitted that her daughter didn’t invite her.

Nancy Dow confirmed to Radar Online that she wasn’t invited to the lavish service that took place at the mansion Aniston and Theroux share on August 6.

But rather than criticising her daughter for the decision, Dow spoke wonders about the fact that Jennifer is now married.

She told the aforementioned publication, “I think it’s wonderful! Anything I say about Jennifer is super supportive.”

The pair’s relationship has always been somewhat rocky. In a previous interview, via the Mirror, the Friends and Cake actress admitted that when she was growing up, her mother was “critical” of her.

Aniston stated, “She was critical. She was very critical of me. Because she was a model, she was gorgeous, stunning. I wasn’t. I never was. I honestly still don’t think of myself in that sort of light, which is fine. She was also very unforgiving. She would hold grudges that I just found so petty.”

Jennifer Aniston also talked about her mother’s temper, and how she struggled to deal with it.

“We’re all fine [now],” Aniston insisted. “She had a temper. I can’t tolerate that. If I get upset, I will discuss [things]. I will never scream and get hysterical like that. [But] I was never taught that I could scream.”

Aniston then recalled, “One time, I raised my voice to my mother, and I screamed at her, and she looked at me and burst out laughing. She was laughing at me [for] screaming back. And it was like a punch in my stomach.”

Their relationship became even more strained when Nancy Dow released a book, From Mother To Daughter To Friends: A Memoir, which was a tell-all of their relationship. This led to the pair being estranged for nine years.

Then in 2005, after Jennifer Aniston’s first marriage to Brad Pitt ended in divorce, the pair reconciled. Aniston even talked to ABC News about how her and her moth had rekindled their relationship.

“Yeah, it’s been really nice,” Aniston explained. “It’s been really nice. It’s crazy what, you know, your life kind of being turned upside down will lead you to… For us it’s… it was the time, and it was going to happen when it was supposed to happen. So this is good. It’s baby steps.”
