Andy Murray, Kim Murray Expecting First Child

Kim Murray, the wife of tennis player Andy Murray, is pregnant. This will be the first child for the couple.

Various reports have emerged that speculate Kim Murray is with child, with the Mirror reporting that the pair broke the news to their friends and family recently just after the 12-week scan. It’s believed that the child will be born in February.

As you can imagine, Judy Murray, the 55-year-old mother of the tennis player, and his tennis-playing brother, Jamie Murray, were both over the moon with the news.

While speaking to Closer Magazine back in April, Judy Murray explained that she was already pining to be a grandmother.

“I’m really looking forward to being a granny. I’ve always wanted to have grandchildren but I had to be patient and let them get married first.”

One man who will be happy to hear that Andy Murray and Kim Murray are starting a family is Andre Agassi. Back in March, the U.S. tennis icon, via the Telegraph, insisted that having a child would help the Wimbledon champion.

Agassi explained, “I think having kids would put a lot of stuff in perspective. There’s nothing more effective for forgetting a bad day or not getting caught up in a great day. That balance could be healthy for him as well.”

Agassi also insisted that he believes Andy Murray will one day add another Grand Slam to his 2012 U.S. Open and 2013 Wimbledon titles.

“I think it’s likely because he’s one of two or three people that should win. It’s likely he is going to win again despite himself. I leave a lot of room for his best years still to be ahead of him, even if it may not be as many years as he could have had.”

Kim Sears, whose father is the player/coach Nige Seaers, and Andy Murray married at Dunblane Cathedral just four months ago on April 11, 2015. The pair originally began dating back in 2005, before they eventually became engaged in November 2014.

The timeline suggests that Kim Murray became pregnant during the French Open. Andy Murray was eventually knocked out of the tournament in June by Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of the event.

Kim Murray has been ever present throughout Andy Murray’s career. In fact, UK cameras often turn to see her reaction during his matches’ tensest moments.
