Gwen Stefani Divorce: Couple Releases Statement, Remains Dedicated To Raising Children Together

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are getting a divorce, but say that they are committed to raising their children together. According to People Magazine, the couple released a joint statement confirming the news that they have decided to end their marriage. Gwen and Gavin say that they plan to raise their three kids, Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 1 and a half, together.

“While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment. To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time.”

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale decided to split for unknown reasons. There have been reports of infidelity since divorce papers were filed in court on Monday. According to TMZ, Gwen felt as though Gavin Rossdale was barely around, and that he was stepping out on her while he was on the road with his band.

“We’re told Gwen complained about Gavin being away from home too much, touring with his band Bush from December 2014 through March 2015. One source says Gwen put pressure on him to stop touring and stay home. For his part, he felt it she was hypocritical because she was on the road too.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the couple does not have a prenuptial agreement, but it sounds like they have worked out much of the details of their arrangement before filing papers. Even still, both have hired reputable attorneys. Stefani will be repped by Scott Weston, while Rossdale has hired divorce-attorney-to-the-stars Laura Wasser.

Gwen and Gavin both requested joint custody of their three sons, and Gwen has stated that she will not be paying any kind of spousal support to Gavin.

“Gwen Stefani’s divorce papers reportedly indicate that she will not be paying her ex spousal support, even though she makes more money than he does. She is worth an estimated $80 million while Gavin is worth $35 million. It is unknown if Gavin will request support of any kind.”

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have been together for nearly two decades after meeting in the 90s, when Bush and No Doubt toured together. The couple married in 2002, and would have celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary together in September.
