Troubled Housewife Kim Richards Charged With Petty Theft, Moved From Rental Prior To Arrest

Troubled housewife Kim Richards’ legal troubles continue. Less than four months after she was arrested at the Beverly Hills Hotel for public intoxication, resisting an officer, and battery on an officer, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star found herself behind bars yet again, this time for allegedly stealing from a Target store in Van Nuys, California.

On August 4, Entertainment Tonight confirmed the troubled housewife had been charged with petty theft after allegedly filling three carts full of merchandise and unloading them one by one into her car. While three carts were involved, however, Richards was not charged for one of those carts, which reportedly totaled in “over $600 of toys.”

As for the troubled housewife’s living situation ahead of her arrest, Entertainment Tonight‘s source denied she was “homeless,” as previous reported have alleged.

“She rented a home for a few weeks from a friend, and is currently house hunting to find a more permanent residence. She is not broke, not living in a car, and not homeless. She only moved out of her old house because she was renting the house, and the house went up for sale.”

This report goes against claims made by TMZ hours earlier, which stated the troubled housewife was living out of her vehicle when she was arrested at Target. Below is what their report revealed.

“Kim Richards was living out of her car when she was arrested Sunday for shoplifting at Target … Kim had been house-hopping since leaving rehab last month. She quickly ran out of friends and relatives who would extend themselves, and has been homeless ever since.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the troubled housewife’s ex-husband, Monty Brinson, was the first person close to Richards to speak of her arrest. On August 4, Brinson, who has been battling cancer for over a year, told Entertainment Tonight he was in shock over the troubled housewife’s arrest.

“I am in complete shock. Guaranteed this must be some kind of mistake, and the facts will come out soon. She was arrested for shoplifting toys in a cart, but this was a clear misunderstanding. This was not alcohol or drug related.”

The troubled housewife has struggled with addiction for the last several years.

Troubled housewife Kim Richards has reportedly been booted from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and is not expected to appear on the show at all when it returns to Bravo this winter.
