WWE News: Backstage Update On John Cena’s SummerSlam Status And WWE Return

After Seth Rollins broke John Cena’s nose on WWE Raw last week, his SummerSlam status became the main priority for the WWE. He was about to enter a feud with Seth Rollins headfirst, which took a major turn last night on WWE Raw. In the first segment, Rollins challenged Cena to a title-for-title match. That essentially means one of them will hold both belts.

Aside from the Kevin Owens and Cesaro feud, Cena and Rollins are doing an excellent job at telling a story outside of the ring. The WWE even created a new t-shirt for Rollins. It has Cena’s “You Can’t See Me” logo, but the “see” has a letter “c” that is crossed out. The shirt also says, “Never Shuts Up.”

They haven’t wrestled against each other yet, but that time will come in a few weeks, hopefully. A nasal fracture of that magnitude usually takes several weeks to heal. However, Cena isn’t a normal man and his anatomy tends to heal quicker than the average human.

Will John Cena be back for SummerSlam? According to All Wrestling News, John Cena is scheduled to return to WWE programming very soon.

“Though Cena will miss much of the build to SummerSlam, he is expected to wrestle at the annual event, which takes place on August 23, 2015 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.”

“Cena is out for a while. I suspect he’ll be wrestling at SummerSlam, he’s scheduled to be back at the go-home shows,” Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio on Sunday.

Yes folks, that does mean John Cena will be in another high-profile match at SummerSlam. Does he deserve to fight for the WWE World Heavyweight championship? Just on his in-ring work alone, there’s no doubt in many people’s minds that he should be involved in a big feud for SummerSlam.

Plus, Cena isn’t exactly going to Vince McMahon and begging for a big push to the moon. The 15-time WWE champion hasn’t done that on record. There wouldn’t be a Cesaro push right now. Kevin Owens wouldn’t have defeated John Cena in his first match on the main roster.

There’s no way John Cena will defeat Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. Cena is doing wonderful things with the U.S. championship. A logical reason does not exist. Then again, WWE hasn’t been logical 100 percent of the time. That being said, through John Cena’s reign as champion, WWE has done all the right things.
