‘Real Housewives’ Star Lisa Vanderpump Weighs In On Kim Richards’ Arrest: ‘Such A Shame’

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump has spoken out about her co-star Kim Richards’ recent arrest. On Sunday, Richards was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at a Van Nuys, California, Target store, and booked at a nearby jail until the following day. Then, on August 4, news of Richards’ arrest went viral, and her Real Housewives co-star spoke out.

Both Vanderpump and Richards have starred on the Beverly Hills-based franchise of the Real Housewives since the show began years ago. However, when it comes to the upcoming sixth season of the show, Richards has reportedly been fired, while Vanderpump has been filming for the last several weeks.

Although Vanderpump and Richards’ younger sister, Kyle, have been close for years, Vanderpump’s relationship with Richards has been up and down, and, as the Inquisitr reported last month, Richards recently dissed Vanderpump during one of her first post-rehab interviews. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Richards referred to her fellow Real Housewives star as “phony.”

“[Lisa Vanderpump is] witty, she’s fun, she has a big heart for people she loves, but I think Lisa is … she’s phony. Sometimes I felt like [Lisa Vanderpump] was my friend, and you know, I believed her, but in a heartbeat she changes.”

On Twitter, Vanderpump responded to her Real Housewives co-star’s allegations with the following tweets:

Richards has been plagued with legal drama throughout the year, starting with her April 16 arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel. After enjoying a glass of vodka at her daughter’s, Brooke Brinson’s, home, the Real Housewives star drove to the hotel’s Polo Lounge, where she indulged in a few more cocktails before being cut off by the bartender, much to her dismay. After becoming irate with staff, Richards was asked to leave, and when she refused, police were called. From there, the drama continued, with Richards kicking a police officer before she was arrested, leading to a battery on an officer charge, in addition to charges of public intoxication, resisting an officer and trespassing.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 6 is expected to return to Bravo sometime this winter.
