Creative Assembly’s ‘Alien’ Game Could Be Coming To Next-Gen Consoles

Posted: May 5, 2012

What with all the attention being focused on Gearbox’s upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines, it would be easy to forget that The Creative Assembly, the developers behind the popular Total War franchise, have an Alien game of their own in the works.

Sega hasn’t had anything to say about The Creative Assembly’s untitled Alien game since its existence was confirmed last year, but now we know a little something more: the game will be a multi-platform release, and that includes unannounced next-gen consoles.

The info comes from a new job opening, which calls on a multiplayer / gameplay programmer to work on a “AAA multi-platform title on current and future generation consoles set in the Alien universe.”

Apart from that, not much else is known. It’s been speculated that it will be a third-person game, with its design sharing some similarities with Dead Space and the like. Until Sega is ready to show off more about the game, speculation is the best we have.

That being said, I’m interested to see whatever it is. I’ve recently fallen in love with the Total War series–I know, I’m late to the party–so I’m looking forward to see more on this Alien game with a reasonable amount of optimism.

  1. In my experience, multi-platform games leave a lot to be desired for PC and on consoles have sub-par game play. Seeing as how it's speculated to be Dead Space-ish, it'll be interesting to see the final product on an unreleased console :)
