Balloons Honor Dad — Daughter Releases Them At Grave Site, You Won’t Believe Where They Turned Up

A grieving daughter released some balloons to honor her late dad while visiting his grave site with her mother, and you won’t believe where they showed up.

Was it an answered prayer, coincidence, or was someone sending this devastated family a sign? When Saige Seibold and her mother, Sandy, visited the father and husband’s grave on Father’s Day, they wanted to do something special, and they could have never imagined the peace it brought them in the midst of unimaginable pain and sorrow.

Johnny Seibold lost his battle with pancreatic cancer at 43-years-old. Ever since he passed away in May, Sandy and Saige have been filled with the pain of losing a remarkable man.

“He was an amazing man,” Sandy Seibold told the New York Daily News. “He was a hard worker, and he loved us. He did everything he could to get us everything that we wanted. We had a really good life, and that was hard to lose.”

What happened when they visited Johnny’s grave on Father’s Day has given them the strength to carry on, despite the pain.

Saige decided to write her dad a poem on her first Father’s Day without him. The handwritten note written by the 13-year-old explained that her father had recently died and asked whoever found her message to contact her. She tied the letter to a balloon with a sign that read “#1 Dad” and then bundled it up with seven other balloons, according to the report.

After the special ceremony with the balloons to honor dad, Sandy and Saige got in their car and drove the 25 miles that took to reach their home in Clement, Oklahoma. Saige was shocked to see her balloons caught on a fence in the backyard, where she spent many hours with her dad.

To Sandy, it was an incredible sight to see, especially because the balloons traveled home faster than they did.

“We felt it was a sign from my husband to let us know he was OK and to quit worrying about him,” she said.

Sandy thought the balloons to honor dad was a great idea, and in a way they were trying to reach him in heaven. The release of the balloons wasn’t smooth, Sandy said, because at first the ribbons got caught in a power line, which greatly upset Saige. Thankfully, a gust of wind released them and away they went.

Sandy and Saige believe with all their hearts that the balloons to honor dad reached him, in a way and he was sending them a message, which has given the mother and daughter much-needed peace.
