Those Taylor Swift, ‘X-Men’ Rumors Were Way Off
Back in July, an innocent tweet from X-Men writer Simon Kinberg immediately had people predicting that Taylor Swift was set to join the likes of Magneto, Wolverine, and Jean Grey in their cinematic universe.
You can check out the picture that caused this mayhem, which features Swift standing alongside Kinberg, James McAvoy, and Sophie Turner, below.

But it turns out that these worries were all for the nothing, because the details surrounding the above picture have now emerged, and as most people originally guessed, it was simply a case of the trio going to see Swift play.
In fact, while talking to Entertainment Weekly, via Comic Book, Kinberg admitted that he’s a huge fan of Swift’s music. After being asked whether he might be a new member of Swift’s legendary squad of pals, Kinberg joked, “I was already part of her squad.” He then came clean by explaining, “No, I don’t even know what her squad is. But I do love that album.”
Kinberg isn’t the only member of the X-Men family to have been linked with Taylor Swift’s squad. In fact, back in July, legendary best friends Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen decided to ask Swift if they could become members of “the squad” after they performed dramatic readings of tow of Swift’s song.
Stewart even tweeted a link to his performance to Swift before he then publicly asked the singer if they could become pals.
So @IanMcKellen recited Bad Blood and I did Blank Space on @NPRAskMeAnother. May we join the squad, @taylorswift13? https://t.co/liKBfSzIaU

As you probably could have guessed, Swift was over the moon to have been asked, and she soon responded to Stewart’s tweet by admitting that McKellen and Stewart were her two “ULTIMATE Squad Goals.”
Thanks for reciting my lyrics, @IanMcKellen and @SirPatStew! You’ve made my day. You two are ULTIMATE Squad Goals: pic.twitter.com/pJZY6T5Lq8
