Nick Anderson Knocks Out Robber During Marriage Proposal [Video]

A North Carolina man named Nick Anderson was busy trying set up a marriage proposal at a restaurant when an unsuspecting robber interrupted his master plan. Unfortunately for the would-be thief, Anderson sprung into action and knocked him out.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, an engagement photo went terribly wrong because the happy couple did not pay attention to what their initials spelled out when put together side by side.

The son of Nick Anderson’s girlfriend, Brighton, had arranged for the marriage proposal at Salsarita’s, a place the boy thought would be perfect.

“I didn’t know anything about the proposal,” said Deanna Deal.

But these marriage proposal plans were put on hold when a robber tried to hit the restaurant.

“The manager came to the door and locked the door. The guy behind the manager pushed him out of the way and unlocked the door,” said Anderson.

Nick saw a restaurant worker chasing the robber around after the man had gone to the register and demanded cash. When Nick saw the robber trying to hit the worker, he stepped in and grabbed the robber, putting a strangehold on the thief. Within seconds, the robber was out cold.

“It happened really quick. He knew how to handle the situation,” said Deal.

An off-duty police happened to be walking to his car when he heard the fight inside the restaurant. He rushed to the scene of the attempted crime and helped Nick wrestle the robber.

“I figured I had to do something,” Master Police Officer David Freeman told WBTV.

The suspect has been identified as Graham Kiziah. It turns out he had robbed Salsarita’s at least twice before the most recent incident.

“We still don’t know the motive or why he seemed to go to the same place every time,” Adkins said.

The robber was charged with one count of common law robbery and two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon for the other alleged incidents. He is jailed under a bond of $175,000.

So, what happened to Nick Anderson? His girlfriend still had no clue a marriage proposal was in the works. Nick went with his backup plan and took Deanna to one of their favorite parks in the area.

“After all that happened, asking her to marry me wasn’t near as bad,” said Anderson, according to WCNC.

As you can imagine, it’s hard to turn a hero down. “She said yes!” he says.
