If you remember the 90s and the beginning of the millennium, you may have a fondness for the boy band Nsync, who at the time were at the height of their synchronized dancing fame. If you’re like ex member Justin Timberlake, you’re just trying to forget about the whole ordeal.

Recently Justin Timberlake, 31, spoke with Details magazine for their May issue, about his many fashion blunders while in the group Nsync. These fashion blunders included a coiffed curly mess of platinum hair, bedazzled jeans and headbands, and marionette outfits amongst other bewildering outfits.

Timberlake recalls his most embarrassing teen years saying, “There were many moments in my teenage years where I succumbed to, um, the weirdness of the group I was in. And in trying to conform — we’re marionettes! — I ended up looking like a moron.”

Currently the singer turned actor is more about the subdued nature of his fashion, opting for more suits than acid washed jeans, explaining how he keeps it simple, “I don’t like when I see guys do too much hair gel. I don’t mean Pauly D — because that’s basically performance art. But when you use enough hair gel that your hair becomes a sculpture—and you wanted it to look that way? It’s just weird.”

Justin Timberlake, prefers to play down his curly hair with a shaved head calling it the easiest thing, “It’s scary the first time you do it, because you don’t know what’s under there — you could have some weird knot — but a shaved head is just so easy.”

As far as his favorite pampering ritual it’s a simple barbershop experience with “the whole hot-towel, old-school experience.” Timberlake elaborates, “You sit there and get your hands massaged while getting a shave? Nothing wrong with that.”
