Hallmark Channel Reveals 16 Original Christmas Movies With Star-Studded Casts

The Hallmark Channel is a favorite among movie watchers, especially of the romantic persuasion, all year long, but the Christmas season is when Hallmark really shines.

This year, the Hallmark Channel will be debuting 16 brand new stories, filled with favorite stars such as Candace Cameron Bure (Fuller House), Danica McKeller (The Wonder Years), David Lewis (Man of Steel), and more. Mariah Carey will be making her directorial debut in Mariah Carey’s Christmas Project, which will film in October and air for the first time in December.

Earlier this month, the Hallmark Channel aired several of their Christmas favorites. According to International Business Times, Hallmark Channel will begin showing the new movies as early as Halloween. October seems a bit too soon to start getting ready for Christmas, but for many the delight of the season is too exciting to put off until December.

Some of the new original titles include ‘Tis the Season for Love, Northpole 2: Open for Christmas, Ice Sculpture Christmas, and On Time for Christmas.

In other Hallmark Channel news, an agreement has finally come to pass between AT&T and Crown Media, the company that owns the Hallmark Channel as well as Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The agreement resulted in the return of Hallmark to AT&T U-Verse.

According to Variety, nearly five years ago the Hallmark Channel was deleted from the streaming lineup when the two companies could not reach a deal regarding the monetary amount that Hallmark should receive for programming rights.

U-Verse subscribers everywhere will be chomping at the bit to pop some popcorn and relax on the couch to enjoy the plethora of romantic dramas on the popular channel. Even better, these viewers will now have access to the 16 newly filmed original Hallmark Channel Christmas movies.

Though the premiere of these programs is still three months away, the excitement is already building. There’s no better way to pass a snowy winter day or night than cuddled by a roaring fire watching love evolve on your TV screen.
