The Rock Wants To Help The Youth Turn Their Lives Around

The Rock, alos known as Dwayne Johnson, is starting to film what may be his most daring project yet. Imagine being in prison with The Rock, in real life. That is what some troubled young men are going to experience courtesy of The Rock’s new TV documentary Rock In A Hard Place.

The Rock revealed the new project through an Instagram post of himself in the Florida boot camp prison in which the show will take place. He’s ready to whip some kids into shape that are headed into a life of crime. He wants to use his own experience of turning his life around to help a younger generation.

Deadline described what compelled The Rock to do a documentary of this kind.

“The camp has an excellent success rate in regard to cleaning up and transforming criminals into excellent citizens. Johnson was so moved by the stories coming out the camp, he teamed up with 44 Blue Productions, which is behind Lockup, to bring the institution’s triumphs to light in the documentary.”

Rock In A Hard Place is in production with HBO. There’s no word on a release date yet, but The Rock is ready to revisit his youth, and help others get a chance to make things better.

In other Rock news, The Rock weighed in on the leaked tape which includes Hulk Hogan’s racist rant. The Rock told reporters of his long family history in wrestling, and how some of his racially diverse family helped train Hogan, which is why the leaked audio came as a shock.

Entertainment Weekly quoted a statement The Rock gave to reporters during a press tour.

“I was pretty disappointed at what I heard. I’ve known [Hulk Hogan] for a lot of years. My dad helped train him in Florida in the ’70s when he was breaking into the business. My uncles helped train him as well. So I’d not known him to be racist.”

As The Rock’s ventures continue to expand as the era of The Hulkster comes to an end. The WWE has all but wiped any mention of Hogan from all its materials, despite the fact that Hogan started with the company in the late 70s. Hulk Hogan has been one of the most recognizable faces in sports entertainment worldwide. The Rock and other wrestlers will have to pick up the legacy Hulk Hogan has so suddenly let go of.
