WWE News: Backstage Update On Hulk Hogan And His WWE Hall Of Fame Status

After the dust settled, things are calming down for Hulk Hogan. Even though a new batch of racial slurs were uncovered yesterday, the media didn’t jump on him like they did the initial time. Perhaps that’s a good thing for WWE fans, as Hulk Hogan was seen as a hero and idol among many long-time fans. Some fans didn’t even watch WWE Raw, as the negative stigma of Hogan remained.

Since the breaking report from the National Enquirer, many WWE stars from the past addressed the situation. Just yesterday, the Rock finally commented on Hulk Hogan’s racial epithet.

“I’ve known Terry for a lot of years, and my dad helped train him in Florida in the ’70s when he was breaking into the business. I come from a very long line of lineage of professional wrestlers. I had not known the man to be racist.”

“We’ve all talked trash, you know, especially in private. He said what he said, and he’s paying the price.”

As of this writing, Hulk Hogan’s likeness is still banned from WWE television, WWE.com, and nearly every other WWE entity that exists. However, there is one thing that Hogan is still involved in. That’s the WWE Hall of Fame. Even though his name is off that portion of the website, he’s still in the Hall. Will that continue though?

According to Cageside Seats, the topic of Hulk Hogan remaining in the WWE Hall of Fame isn’t really being discussed at this point.

“While WWE has removed Hulk Hogan from its website as a member of the Hall of Fame, it’s unclear if the company is actually going with the idea that he has been removed from it altogether. The word going around is that no one will talk about it either which way, and the impression is he’s out.”

Does Hulk Hogan deserve to be removed from the WWE Hall of Fame? That’s a huge discussion that will probably continue for many months. If one were to surmise, then a decision won’t likely take place until after his court date with Gawker in March of next year. As far as Hogan appearing in the WWE, that may never happen again.

The former-WWE champion’s lawyer said that “he is done.” Whether that means inside the ring, or in the WWE altogether, Hulk Hogan won’t be with the WWE for a long time. As for the Hall of Fame debate, OJ Simpson is still in the NFL Hall of Fame.
