Tammy Brevik: Allegedly Abused Former Employee Of Walter Palmer Says ‘Karma Is A B***h’

Tammy Brevik, 43, used to work for Dr Walter James Palmer and allegedly suffered predatory sexual abuse at his hands between the years 1999 to 2005. Brevik was paid out a settlement of $127,500 in her case against Palmer, and yesterday she finally spoke out about her ordeal with her former employer.

Palmer, a father of two children from Eden Prairie, Minnesota has been hit with a global backlash after killing, skinning, and beheading Zimbabwe’s best loved animal, Cecil the lion.

According to Palmer, he thought the kill was legal and had trusted that his guides had the necessary permits when he tracked and shot the protected and tagged lion on July 1. The hunt cost Palmer $55,000.

However it seems he may not only be predatory with wildlife in Africa. In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, Tammy Brevik, the former dental clinic employee and patient of Palmer, told how the sexual abuse continued during her employ at River Bluff Dental in Bloomington, Minnesota.

She spoke of her 2005 complaint that Palmer subjected her to “unwanted verbal comments and physical conduct.”

“I believe my sex was a factor in Respondent’s actions in that many of Dr Palmer’s comments concerned my breasts, buttocks and genitalia.”

“I also believe that my termination was in retaliation for reporting the conduct because I was terminated the day my lawyer contacted Dr Palmer regarding the harassment.”

Tammy Brevik who at the time was known as Tammy George, said that her employment ended after the former dental clinician visited a lawyer to report Palmer’s predatory sexual behavior.

It was three months after being fired that Tammy filed a complaint and lawsuit with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, saying that she had been terminated after visiting a lawyer to discuss remedies against Palmer’s sexual abuse.

According to Brevik’s complaint, she was subjected to “ongoing and unwelcome sexual harassment” from her boss, including but not limited to “verbal comments and physical conduct.”

While Palmer denied all charges, he did agree to pay Tammy Brevik $127,500, split over two payments. Palmer was also told to complete a jurisprudence exam and ethics course. He was also ordered to write a letter of recommendation for Brevik.

When Tammy Brevik received her settlement in December 2006, she had to sign a confidentiality clause and agreement not to disparage her former employer.

According to the Daily Mail Online Tammy Brevik confirmed her identity and the sexual harassment charges to them when they arrived at her suburban home in New Prague, Minnesota that she shares with husband Justin and their three dogs.

A decade later, Tammy Brevik has little sympathy for the dentist who killed Cecil the lion in Zimbabwe.

“It’s amazing how big this has become – karma is a b***h!”

Meanwhile petitions online are calling for Palmer to be extradited to Zimbabwe for trial, as local police there are interested in speaking with the dentist.

According to 7 News, the two men involved in organizing Palmer’s hunt, professional hunter Theo Bronkhorst and a local landowner, Honest Ndlovu, have appeared in court in Victoria Falls. They stand accused of helping Palmer to illegally hunt the protected lion and if convicted will face up to 15 years in prison.

Walter Palmer’s dental practice, along with his personal home are both shuttered and closed, and the dentist himself is in hiding.

Meanwhile a spoof Twitter account, pretending to be that of River Bluff Dental, continues to post tweets in sardonic fun and parody of Dr Walter Palmer.
