San Francisco Giants Trade Rumors: Mike Leake Traded To The Giants From Cincinnati Reds
According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, the San Francisco Giants have made a trade that makes their rotation one of the best in baseball, and will help make them make another deep playoff run, as they hope to earn their fourth title in the last six years. As of Thursday, the San Francisco Giants are just a half game behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West.
#Dodgers reinforced with Latos/Wood/Johnson. Now #sfgiants do with Leake. half-game separates rivals. Should be fun stretch run.

The San Francisco Giants have completed a deal that sends Mike Leake out west from Cincinnati, where he played with the Reds. Leake is a welcome addition to the Giants, as he holds a 9-5 record with a 3.56 ERA, fitting him right in the middle of the rotation with Tim Hudson possibly heading to the disabled list.
Now the question: What do the Giants do with Tim Hudson? I guess it's probably back to the DL.

Mike Leake and that infield? Yeah, that'll work.https://t.co/EWIa45pRsO

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Mike Leake had also been rumored to be connected with the New York Yankees, but evidently nothing came of those talks. Leake was also connected to the San Francisco Giants division rival, Los Angeles Dodgers.
#SFGiants land Mike Leake, who would have been a good addition for the rival #Dodgers or #Yankees.

In return, the Cincinnati Reds are receiving two minor league players, according to Jon Morosi of Fox Sports. One of those minor leaguers is Keury Mella, a right-handed pitcher who plays for the San Jose Giants in the California League. However, Mella was listed as the top prospect in the Giants organization, showing their yearning for future championships. The other player involved in this deal is Adam Duvall, who played 28 games in the majors last season for the San Francisco Giants.
reds receive two minor leaguers back for leake. big move for giants, who are going for 4 rings in 6 years.

Adam Duval and Keury Mella to Reds in Leake deal confirmed

The Reds have done a great job here in getting a nice return for a mid-level starting pitcher like Leake. Duvall has shown he can slug in the majors as well as the minors, and Mella has great upside.
Other player going from #sfgiants to #Reds for Leake is 1b-3b Adam Duvall. An older minor leaguer who has slugged well in minors

Duvall, who went for Leake, homered off Leake in his 1st major league game. #Reds #sfgiants #symmetry

Mike Leake has pitched better on the road throughout this season. In fact, he holds a 2.28 ERA and 0.80 WHIP away from Great American Ball Park this season. And in a big ballpark, which AT&T is, Leake will surely shine. Mike is also on an incredible stretch as of late, as he holds 1.25 ERA in July, which raised his trade value considerably.
a home run for mike leake: goes to home state, has known bochys forever, gets great team/defense & big park #SFGiants

Leake away from that band box in Cincy: 2.28 ERA, .8 WHIP. Think that plays? #Giants

What do you think of the San Francisco Giants acquisition of Mike Leake, a starting pitcher from the Cincinnati Reds? Do you think the Giants will make additional moves before the July 31 MLB trade deadline? Finally, how do you think the San Francisco Giants will fare the rest of the season?
