Amanda Seyfried Chops Her Hair For A Very Noble Cause

It appears Amanda Seyfried did chop her hair. When the cute actress-cum-singer who always sported a full waist-length of hair was seen walking her dog, she sported a fresh new haircut. Apparently, there is a very noble reason behind the rather sudden decision to trim her luscious bangs.

Seyfried, who will be seen in Ted 2, opted for a haircut when she was out to walk her dog. Evidently, a salon stop was made because when she returned, gone were the long golden locks of beautifully shimmering hair. Instead, the actress was seen sporting a shoulder-grazing chop, reported Us Weekly. Though the chop looks quite beautiful, her fans are sure to miss her signature hair that nicely framed her pretty face and the volume of the locks looked mesmerizing as they shimmered in the summer sun. Incidentally, Seyfried had tricked her fans earlier this month, but this time, the chop appears real.

Amanda Seyfried’s newly chopped hair sits nicely just above her petite shoulders. It is certainly a great looking feminine style, which does pack the trademark bounce. It has an added bonus of quickly transforming into multiple looks with just a little modification like a topknot or a ponytail, reported Vogue.

Despite the new do, which looks equally stunning to the previous one and suits Amanda Seyfried quite well, there was an altruistic intention behind sacrificing her waist-long hair. Seyfried revealed the reason behind the rather dramatic chop on Instagram. She shared a photo of Finn, her beloved dog & companion wearing her snipped locks with the caption:

“Finn is wearing my #locksforlove.”

“Locks of Love” is a non-profit organization that was started to afford a decent head of hair for children. The organization offers beautifully and professionally crafted wigs to sick and financially disadvantaged children. Many of the recipients of wigs have lost their hair to such dreadful diseases like cancer. Such children are quite vulnerable to depression watching their hair fall out. Locks of Love has brought smiles and joy to many a children who would have otherwise had to fight despair and sadness apart from the disease that robbed them of their hair.

Locks of Love has received hundreds of such donations in the past, including quite a few from other children, who wanted to do something good. Needless to say, while the organization may not specifically state if the wig was made from Amanda Seyfried’s chop, her beautiful hair will ensure a sick child has something to smile and feel good about.

Seyfried is such a sweetheart — she even uploaded a selfie with her hairstylist, Clede Tomoko, with the following caption.

“New haircut/old friend.”
