WWE News: Backstage Update On Cesaro’s WWE Status, Has He Captured The Infamous Brass Ring?
WWE Superstar Cesaro has been making waves for the last number of weeks. Once his tag partner Tyson Kidd went down, everyone knew that Cesaro would be pushed out of storylines if he didn’t step up as a singles competitor. He showed up one night on WWE RAW and was able to give us a memorable match with John Cena for Cena’s United States Championship.
From there, Cesaro has been performing so well that fans have started to get back in his corner. On top of this, it appears management may also be back in his corner.
According to Daily Wrestling News, WWE officials are very happy with Cesaro right now. He continues to get praise backstage and his stock has risen massively in the company. On top of this, WWE has even spoken about how Cesaro has grabbed the brass ring yet again.
This is a big shift from last year when WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was asked about Cesaro on Stone Cold’s Podcast. Vince said at the time that Cesaro didn’t know how to connect to the WWE Universe. Stone Cold praised Cesaro, claiming he was a great worker. He didn’t know what he was missing. However, Vince was right at the time when it came to Cesaro.
Cesaro is great in the ring, but his mic work was not at a high level at the time. Not only has he improved his already stellar in-ring work lately, but he has also improved on the mic. Truly, Cesaro is on one of the best hot streaks we have seen in some time. However, the issue is that he is having a hot streak at the same time guys like Kevin Owens were having theirs.
This is what is leading WWE to have them clash it seems.

At the end of the day, WWE has to choose on what to do with both men who have had a good last few months. Owens, who beat John Cena in his first main roster match or Cesaro who has been on a roll for weeks and gained major points backstage with vets?
Early word is that WWE wants to push Owens down into the mid-cards for a while rather than have him stay in the main event scene. This pretty much tells us that if he faces Cesaro at WWE SummerSlam as expected, The Swiss Superman will most likely walk out the winner. This would be a string of PPV losses for Owens, but if this rivalry continues, one would imagine that Kevin Owens would get his win back from Cesaro.
Cesaro is quickly becoming a favorite among WWE fans even more so than he was before. Fans love that he appears to be fighting for his injured tag partner in Tyson Kidd as well. Everything about Cesaro screams main event right now, and it could be a place he will find himself if he continues to be on this roll. The backstage love is there, so it’s really just on him at this point.
