Dallas Cowboys Rumors: Will Jerry Jones Go After Junior Galette? — Running Back’s Agent Contacts Team, But It Isn’t Ray Rice

The Dallas Cowboys are once again the center of attention, and unfortunately, it’s because their name is connected to two troublesome players. For the time being, these are nothing but rumors, but they’re flying around and Dallas is somewhat connected. Running back Chris Johnson‘s agent has reached out to the Cowboys, and troubled former New Orleans Saints defensive end Junior Galette is on the market, but will the boys bite?

When Junior Galette was released by the New Orleans Saints, he went on a Twitter rampage that may have seriously hurt his chances of being picked up by any team. Still, he’s a very talented player and someone may end up taking a chance on him.

Sports World Report believes that Galette is actually a target of the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, New York Giants, and Oakland Raiders.

Galette did pass a physical and that was what the Saints were waiting for to release him from the team. The NFL is currently looking into reports of domestic violence against Galette and another incident in which he reportedly got into a fight on a beach.

Any team that picks him up could end up dealing with a player that ultimately ends up suspended for some length of time this season. Dallas is already dealing with that situation, and may not want to have another on the team.

Now, the Cowboys may end up signing another running back at some point, but it may not be troubled Ray Rice.

Actually, CBS Sports reported that the agent for Chris Johnson has made contact with the Cowboys about his client. With Joseph Randle and Darren McFadden making up the Cowboys’ primary backfield at this time, some help could be needed.

Back in May, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones did say that Chris Johnson was on the team’s short list of running backs they were looking at. Johnson was injured in a drive-by shooting in March, but the wounds to his shoulder are healing and wouldn’t affect his play on the field.

The Dallas Cowboys may be willing to take a chance on Chris Johnson, and that’s especially true if a running back injury occurs before the regular season. At this time, though, it seems as if Junior Galette could land in a number of spots and the Cowboys may be one of them.
