Grumpy Cat Dethroned By Earl, The Grumpy Puppy

Grumpy cat, the viral Internet sensation, has been dethroned by Earl, the grumpy puppy.

Earl’s expression, which boasts a severe underbite, may look fierce. However, his owner, Derek Bloomfield, assures us that he is very playful and happy around other dogs and humans.

After Bloomfield posted a picture of his grumpy puppy to Reddit, it went viral, gaining Earl millions of fans, who are now using his picture in the same fashion as grumpy cat with Internet memes.

“He has had the grumpy expression from day one,” Bloomfield explained. “The vet said he’s as healthy as any other puppy. He just looks grumpy because of his underbite, wrinkles, and dark complexion.”

“He is the most relaxed, content puppy either one of us has ever seen,” he added. “Whenever he wants something he’ll calmly sit down and stare at us until we ask him the right question. Then he wags his tail in approval.”

“He’s constantly trying to snuggle up to one of us and has us in constant fits of laughter through his facial expressions and mannerisms,” Bloomfield continued.”He’s a daddy’s boy and loves to pick on his momma.”

Earl, a pug and beagle mix, or a “puggle,” now has his own Facebook and Instagram pages to showcase his adorable grumpy faces.

The Internet is not the only place where Earl is becoming a celebrity. Derek says complete strangers stop him and his girlfriend, Christie, to comment on their sweet grumpy puppy.

“People usually say ‘Oh my god, he is so cute,’ [and] “Is he always that grumpy?” Derek said. “Usually a combination of those two phrases and laughter.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, grumpy cat has landed quite the career since her picture first went viral.
