Sleepwalking Stories And Videos: Playing The Piano, Tap Dancing, Strange Messages, Attempted Murder

Sleepwalking can lead people to do pretty strange things at times.

But for some people, sleepwalking can be both a blessing and a cause for embarrassment. Like for 12-year-old Isabelle, who subconsciously channels her creative energies into playing the piano when she is sleeping.

Isabelle’s uncle recently uploaded a short video clip online where the young musician can be seen pressing keys on the piano while resting her head on the fallboard of the instrument. What is surprising, however, is the dexterity with which Isabelle presses the notes on the piano, all the while not knowing that she is going to become an internet sensation in the days to follow. Though the musical piece is not fully formed, some broken hints of melodies suggest Isabelle’s attempt to give her dream a physical manifestation.

The next morning, Isabelle could not remember anything about the previous night’s performance. Sleepwalking is often accompanied by patients not recalling the incidents, as their consciousness alters into a state in which it is difficult to remember anything. Though actions performed during sleepwalking often tend to be relatively simple and benign, there have been known cases where sleepwalkers have performed complex actions, like cooking, driving, or even interviewing people.

Isabelle’s uncle, James Hodgson, spoke to the Telegraph about his niece’s sleepwalking episodes.

“On one occasion, she once came out into the lounge sleep walking and sang Bicycle Race by Queen then went back to bed. The next day she said she had a dream about singing with Freddie Mercury in front of a huge crowd.”

Now that would have been one heck of a dream for the sleepwalking Isabelle!

There have been other sleepwalking cases where people have traveled several kilometers to find themselves at the seashore, as reported by Metro, while one woman fell straight out of a third floor window of a hotel room while her husband lay in bed (she miraculously survived, but broke her back in the process). The Inquisitr reported last month about a woman who, while sleepwalking, walked half a mile out to the sea before she woke up.

Another woman, whose son uploaded a rather hilarious video on YouTube, can be seen dancing while still dreaming. Though her eyes remain open throughout, and she even answers her son’s questions, doctors have confirmed that the woman suffers from sleeping disorders.

Most sleepwalking patients, however, cannot come close to what Isabelle can accomplish, and how we would like to see her perform at a sleepwalking concert — perhaps with the dancing woman grooving with the melody!
