Newly Added Synopses For ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Season 1 Suggest A Highly Dysfunctional Family

With less than a month to go until the premiere of AMC’s new zombie series, Fear The Walking Dead, IMDb have updated their database to include brief synopses for the first two episodes.

Episode 1 (entitled Pilot) synopsis for Fear The Walking Dead:

“A highly dysfunctional blended family is forced together when they realize a reported virus is actually the onset of the undead apocalypse.”

Episode 2 (entitled Close, Yet So Far) synopsis for Fear The Walking Dead:

“While Madison struggles to keep Nick from crippling withdrawal, Travis ventures out to find his son before the city of Los Angeles falls.”

The synopsis for Episode 1 is rather vague and could be seen as a broader tagline for the whole series rather then giving anything away directly about the premiere episode of Fear The Walking Dead. Most of what its says has been deduced already from the influx of information AMC has released starting with Fear The Walking Dead‘s very first panel at San Diego Comic Con.

The second synopsis, however, gives fans a closer look at how the season will unfurl. From it we learn Nick is going through withdrawals. We know he is drug dependent, and from the promo trailer entitled “Nick’s Escape,” we also know he, at some stage through Fear The Walking Dead, has to run for his life from the undead. The San Diego Comic Con trailer also revealed that Nick (played by Frank Dillane) is not believed by his family when he admits he ran in front of a car after fleeing from people who were feasting on other humans. So, from this, we can deduce that Nick’s Escape will most likely occur in episode 1 of Fear The Walking Dead and after that deal with withdrawals in Episode 2.

Travis (Cliff Curtis) also has to locate his son to his ex-wife Liza in Episode 2. My prediction is that much of Episode 2 of Fear The Walking Dead will concentrate on this story line rather than on Nick withdrawing from drugs. Considering Cliff Curtis has said at Comic Con that Liza and his son, Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) will end up under the same roof as himself and his new partner, Madison (Kim Dickens), it is possible this will happen by the culmination of this episode.

Fansided has also noted that the Fear The Walking Dead Wikia page has added the following synopsis for Episode 1.

“When her drug-addict teenage son Nick is found in shock in the middle of the street as if he has just seen a ghost, Madison tries to understand what happened to him, with the help of her daughter Alicia, and her fiancé, Travis Manawa. They discover it might be linked to the mysterious illness that is spreading at a fast rate in the city of Los Angeles for a few days and inevitably all around the globe soon…”

However, it is unclear where this synopsis has originated from.

Fear The Walking Dead will premiere on Sunday, August 23, 2015 on AMC. You can find out more details on the lead up to the premiere of Fear The Walking Dead here. Also, a comprehensive gallery of images from Episode 1 and 2 of Fear The Walking Dead can be found here.
