Dorinda Medley Opens Up About Her Husband’s Death On ‘RHONY’

Dorinda Medley and Carole Radziwill were seen bonding over the losses of their husband on last week’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York City Season 7, and this week, their emotional discussion continues.

In a sneak peek of tonight’s show, shared by OK! Magazine on July 28, Dorinda Medley admits to feeling guilty about her husband, Richard Medley, who passed away due to liver failure in 2011.

“I, at the end of it, was so physically and emotionally exhausted and so angry, I was angry at Richard [Medley] at the end. I almost felt like after he died, I was happy he died. It was like the first night I ever slept was the night he died.”

Although dealing with her husband’s illness was stressful for Dorinda Medley, she doesn’t regret the time she spent caring for him, and said it was “never a burden, it was an honor.”

“You don’t [sleep] because you’re so fearful that if you fall asleep, they might leave without you knowing so you don’t sleep.”

Dorinda Medley, who shares a daughter, 21-year-old Hannah, with her late husband, joined the cast of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City during Season 7, after being introduced to the women by longtime housewife Ramona Singer. Since joining, Dorinda Medley has dealt with a number of dramatic incidents, including odd behavior by her boyfriend, John, at a party, and a tear-filled confrontation with Heather Thomson during a cast vacation.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Dorinda Medley’s return to The Real Housewives of New York City for Season 8 has yet to be confirmed. However, during an interview with OK! Magazine last month, she claimed she would be more than happy to return to the series if asked.

“I hopefully will return next season… It got me back out, it got me involved and it got me into a routine. I know these girls. It wasn’t like me entering into something that was totally bizarre or unnatural. It was a very healing experience.”

Dorinda Medley’s on-screen nemesis, Heather Thomson, is rumored to have quit the Bravo reality series after Season 7, and Kristen Taekman, whose second season is currently airing, may also not return. As for the rest of the cast, their returns have yet to be determined.
